I did a takeout order chicken nachos no guacamole no sour cream. 2 beef tostada no guacamole no sour cream. Got home chicken nachos were just chips dry chicken no cheese. Tostada had everything on them. Not what I ordered. They were not busy at all. Most of staff were just standing around talking. Have been coming here for Years hope things change for the better. Will not be coming back for while.
We had a perfect evening on the patio and enjoyed the chicken suiza enchiladas. I added a vegetable enchilada this time and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!! If you like fajitas, you'll love them (my mouth is watering just thinking about it!) We love the cheese sauce (Queso) here - it is a mild white cheese, so if you prefer the spicy alternative you may want to add a hotter sauce to it ? Last but definitely not least is the fried ice cream! It's a very rare occurrence that we can leave La Mesa without having fried ice cream - the best around, in our opinion ?
I placed a to-go order tonight for pickup at 4:57. We picked it up and brought it home to eat as soon as we got home at about 5:10. Our food was refrigerated temperature cold. I called to ask how we could remedy the situation, provided my pickup time, order information, and name. I was on hold for 10 mins (not an issue, I know they are busy). I then spoke to a man who said he didn’t know anything and stated I was calling on the busiest night of the year. I said I was happy to wait to remedy the situation. He tried to get me off the phone saying he didn’t know anything about my order and they have been very busy tonight and “had a lot of to-go orders”. I explained I needed to eat dinner and wanted to know if I should go elsewhere, if they would remake it, etc. I stated I just needed to know how they would rectify the situation. He stated I should “call back tomorrow and we can look into it”. I asked for his name and he said “have a good day”. I asked again for his name and then he hung up on me. I will be calling tomorrow to remedy this situation and hope I get better customer service than this.
La Mesa's menu was surprising as it offered unique fish and chicken dishes I have never found at a Mexican restaurant before. My husband ordered chicken covered with a delicious sauce, and I ordered talapia with mango sauce, which was amazing. The service was outstanding, as were the Margaritas. Cannit wait to return.

Nice waiter but they need to let people chill and look at the order and not feel pressured to order quick .... But food was amazingly tasty and yummy will give them a second change well worth it....
There’s a blonde busboy there who is extremely rude. Ruined our entire dining experience. Waiter took fifteen minutes to greet us. Portion size is not good for the price. I recommend Romeos or Margaritas instead.
Our waiter was super friendly and attentive, took good care of us. Food and drinks never disappoint, you won't leave here hungry!
We should have listened to our 3 year old and went to Chili’s instead. Service was not the best and felt rushed to order our dinners. My three year old's quesadilla looked as it was something a 6 year old threw together for him. My fajitas were absolutely terrible and tasted as they were sitting in a warmer since they opened for lunch. I would rather be force fed Taco Bell than have to come back and eat that meal again.
I have been to 3 locations I quite like the food. I'm from Oklahoma this was surprisingly good 11/10 would recommend.
