Best sushi I've had in the three years I've lived in Omaha. The Simba and Omaha Crunch are two of my favorites. The Bushido sake is a perfect compliment to go with whatever you've ordered.
To ever think that sushi is this marvelous in the middle of the US, far away from the ocean. My first time in the state where my boyfriend grew up in. We met up with his best friend who spoke highly of this place and I’d trust any other recommendations he has after this.Amber helped discover the best of the best when we asked her for her favorites. With the guys they ordered the Moriwase Nigiri kobayashi maru, go-san and others. I of course ordered the vegan sundried maki which I loved and the ume shiso which was not my flavor preference but can be someone else’s. Kudos to the chef, where would this place be without them. Kudos to amber for being an amazing addition to the experience of it all.
We really enjoyed it. I agree with some of the other reviews that it is certainly not fast. The food started coming right about when my wife and I were getting impatient and it was obvious that the reason it took a while is that a lot of care went into making it and there were no corners cut. It isn't inexpensive but is definitely higher quality than other sushi places in town. Our waitress was very polite and helpful navigating the menu and the restaurant is clean and inviting
Very good service, food was outstanding, my husband had the malt whiskey he like it. Overall very good
We have been here a number of times with enjoyable company, good food and service. However this visit started off poorly with the waiterbeing rather condescending about sushi when I have been eating sushi 50 years before he was born {I'm from Hawaii where they have eaten sushi for over a hundred years, I have eaten sushi at Nobu's in New York when they first opened in the 1990's, Morimoto's when it first opened in Philadelphia in 2001 and Chef Morimoto spending 15 minutes discussing baseball and food with my family and again at Matsuhisa in Los Angeles again discussing food], so I was surprised and taken aback, particularly since we were in a happy and celebratory mood with this waiter being snobbish, condescending and telling us what to do and how we should eat sushi . I'm full blooded Japanese for God's sake. I welcome the chance to learn new things and like to discuss food, but not with a condescending poorly informed individual. Unfortunately the fish was not fresh, but rather dull colored. Surprising for a restaurant of this quality .....flat tasting....definitely not fresh [hamachi/salmon/tuna]. Umami is a better choice with better food and much friendlier staff and chefs and better ambience.
I rarely give five stars, so this means this place was amazing. They had a very unique menu and atmosphere. Small little 0lace to get your sushi fix. The flavor was phenomenal and fresh. The presentation was also very nice, which is nice to see. Whenever we go to Omaha, this will be on our menu.
By far the best sushi experience I’ve ever had!
I do t know where to start. Dave was a great host and chef. I wanted more of everything we had to eat it was an amazing time.
Absolutely incredible experience! I’d highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar if you can. Watching each dish being prepared is an experience itself. You can’t go wrong ordering anything on the menu, or if you’re feeling adventurous, let the chef decide!
Best sushi restaurant in Omaha BY FAR!! I have always been a Blue Sushi fan(still am), but this place blows them out of the water. The restaurant is the perfect size to keep it cozy, and there is no bar vibe. Its all about the food. The whole atmosphere was just perfect, our waitress had an answer to any question and offered suggestions on rolls etc. Rolls were around $13-$14, but oh so worth every penny. Will be back to try new things next time.
