They treated our dart league exceptionally well and I am grateful!
Let me tell you, this place is a really great little gem of a local pub. I went there very late in the evening, when everything else seemed to be closed. From the exterior, it looked pretty nondescript. Once inside, I was happy to meet Linda, the sole employee working at that time. She was a really wonderful, warm and engaging presence. She gave me my drink, and went to cook my food. The menu is simple and effective. Burgers, fries, onion rings, wings, tenders,a Philly cheese steak, and that's pretty close to it. A few beers, a good selection of liquor. To be honest, I didn't expect much. I was completely expecting frozen patties on my burger, frozen onion rings, etc. Especially that late at night. I was wrong. What I got was a delicious hand crafted burger, large patty, fresh onion rings, all perfectly seasoned and really perfectly crispy fries. I was feeling satiated almost immediately. The food was remarkably great.Linda is just perfect. What a great personality. We chatted for a long time as the locals came in and things just got better. If you like intimate and lively places that the locals love, this is that place. I thrive on private small independent pubs. Love them. This is a place that I will totally come back to. Especially on Thursday and Saturday nights as I know that the service will be friendly and the company of other locals will be lively and engaging.Thank you so much for an AWESOME experience Linda. To me, there's no mystery in the fact that some of your esteemed regulars have been coming there for 30+ years. Is all about the atmosphere.Great place to visit. Quality hidden gem.
Met the owner just out and about. She was great. She said she owned a bar that served food wand went there for lunch. Had the chicken Philly and home cut fries. They were great. Will be back for sure. ??
Great food and fun atmosphere!
Nice little place. Dive, without the gruff. Went for lunch. Good ½lb burger & fries.
While in Omaha on business I randomly picked a local sports bar that just happened to be within a mile of my hotel. The reviews looked pretty solid so I gave this one a try. This place is very quaint and unassuming on the outside. Growing up in a small town I can definitely appreciate that. When I arrived I was the only one who grabbed a table. The only one. There were several patrons at the bar who seemed to know each other. They were very friendly.I asked for a food menu and it was very straightforward. Cheeseburger, Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Battered Mushrooms, Philly Cheesesteak, etc. They were very inexpensive.I ordered a Mushroom and Swiss Burger with Battered Mushrooms. OMG. It was like stepping into a time portal back to my childhood. You can't get bar food like this anywhere else. I was surprised that I was the only one eating. Do people know about this gem? I'll be back.
There is bar food and then there is Bar food. This place does the best Bar food. No off the menu stuff like squid or funny cheese. It's straight ahead good bar food. Fries are crunchy. Burgers are big juicy and tasty. The staff is aces. We have come into the bar several times when the grill was shut down. Never a sour face, never a raised eyebrow when we asked if they were serving food... only response both time was 'Do you know what you want?'Oh yes, they also serve booze.
I had a Philly Cheesteak and fries. Amazing! The beer on tap was very good. Great service! Lisa was very nice and very attentive to the customers. She put a lot of care into that sandwich, and it showed. I wish I lived closer, but the next time I get a craving for a Philly, White House is where I'm going. It was one of the best I've ever had.
