Biryani definitely not worthy the price, the so called biryani or just a flavored rice with no punch to it, is the sub-par biryani I ate among the Indian restaurants in Omaha. Its a decent restaurant to try their Naans & curries, but a big NO for biryani's. Their goat biryani was very good 2 years ago but no longer any of their biryanis is close enough to be called an authentic biryani. Staff have been very courteous.
Ordered the vegetable curry and garlic naan. Tasted delicious!
Great Indochinese and Indian food! I've ordered take out from here several times, and they never disappoint. If you're a fan of spicy flavors, their spice levels are the best I've had at any Indian restaurant in Omaha. I would recommend the Gobi Manchurian, Chili Fish, Korma, and Kerala Biryani.
I grew up with a dad that cooked at a professional level. I have eaten all over the country in all kinds of cuisine. The veggie tikka masala and the samosas were some of the best food I have ever tasted. I don’t find many foods that truly knock my socks off, but Taj is it.
Very expensive for what you get. Spent about $40 for 2 people,....2 entrees, naan, some sauces, and 1 dessert... it was worth about half that at most. Also the online ordering said it would be ready by a certain time and it was over 40 minutes after that time. The ingredients weren't consistent with what was listed on the menu either. Would not recommend. The carrot halva was the worst ever, the vegetable Tikka masala was just a few, maybe 6 or 7, chunks of tofu in sauce, and only about 10oz total in a deli 16oz container, the sauce was good, but not a single veggie in it and the size was about a child's portion. The other vegan dish of potatoes and peas was very greasy and overcooked, like it wasn't made fresh, but was just reheated leftovers from days before. Again in a 16oz deli container, it was maybe 10 oz, just barely half full. Both dishes came with white rice in one large container.... lots of rice for 2 tiny amounts of entree. The naan was good, that's about it. Way overpriced. Bad service, the guy was rude when going in to pick up. Don't waste your money. Photo is showing the Half full container of my entree when I received it. I could fit the rice and all of the entree in a small paper bowl, you know the kind that are about 6 inches in diameter and 2 inches deep, and it didn't fill half the bowl or come to the rim, see second photo. This is usually the amount I have as LEFTOVERS from other places.
had a very nice lunch here. The food was delicious. maybe get a little music going on the dining area. was a little weird and quiet.
Had the chicken korma, extra spicy. Food came out quick. Tasted hot and fresh. The portions were big, and I always appreciate a place that doesn’t charge extra for rice/extra rice. The server was friendly and made me feel super welcome. A+
Awesome food!!! Great people running this business. People are very friendly and kindly. Its the unique way of Indian and Chinese takeout. Well you can choose to dine in as well. Loved their Indochinese foods.
My family and I went to Taj tonight for dine-in and our experience was amazing. The food was so good and our waiter was one of the best we have had when dining out at any restaurant. The chicken tikka masala was so fresh and flavorful! We will definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food. Thanks for a great experience!
My family had dinner tonight at Taj tonight. First, the server was one of the best we have ever had. He took the time to go over each unknown dish and explained it’s ingredients so we could order what we liked. We each ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, onion naan & garlic naan. While we waited for approx 10 mins for food, our server kept our drinks filled. Our food was served fresh and hot to our table. He even brought out a dish to sample from one that we were asking about. The server was so very kind to our family and made it the best dining experience. Definitely will be returning to Taj more often for Dine-In, and will recommend to others.
