Very friendly staff. If you're not sure what you want ask for a recommendation. Our server recommended the half rack pork ribs. They were delicious. The owner stopped over to check on our experience. What a nice man he was. The bathrooms were spotless. 5 Stars ?
We had great experience this afternoon. Food tasted great and the the oreos and fried brownies were out of this world. Only piece of advice would be less seasoning on the grilled cheese. I thought it was good but my little guy had a hard time with it. We will definitely be back next time we are in Omaha!
Wow, was I disappointed. I really wanted to like Smoking Jays but most of the food was completely inedible. The brisket was all fatty, no smoke taste, and smelled like dirty water. The mac and cheese was flavorless and dry. The fries were decent but small portion for the only food that is worth a bite. I could only get through one bite of the sandwich before I started feeling queasy. Definitely not the best bbq in Omaha.
Eeeeh it was pretty mediocre and very expensive !!! The cornbread was what my grandmother would have fed to the chickens and made fresh. Some of the sides were really not very good. I would not go back. The ribs were the only good point here. They were pretty good.
ALERT: TOP FIVE ENTRY FOR FRITO-STYLE PIES NATIONWIDE. We stopped here for an early lunch-- our 293rd BBQ stop in 32 states, and the 10th in Nebraska. We purchased an appetizer sized pork nachos plate, a brisket sandwich with a small side of house made onion rings, and a refillable soft drink (coke products). We were charged $0.75 for an extra side of sauce, but with its peppery edge reminiscent of LC's in Kansas City, the sauce was worth it. It worked well on both the meats and the excellent onion rings. The brisket sandwich was top-notch, but we especially enjoyed the nachos. Although we took our time, the waffle fries kept the dish crisp until the end.We look forward to stopping here again. If you would like to read more reviews of BBQ in Nebraska, or elsewhere in the continental US, you can consult our 49 published lists by following us, and then scrolling down through the current stack of reviews and photos. 1st time in the Omaha area, so technically I can't compare to other local BBQ. Definitely up there with other great BBQ I've had in other cities. Fall off the Bone Ribs! Brisket was Really Good! Perfect smoke flavor.
Overall a pleasant experience. The cashier/order taker didn't listen very well my party and I noticed as she seemed to in a hurry. The food was good however. I had rib tips and one of my sister's had burnt ends. My other sister had a double cheeseburger. We'll possibly return again and try something different.
we had it this weekend and it was awesome. family size brisket with sides. plenty of food and can't wait to eat there again. A+++++++++

Great food! We all got something different to try and share. The spicy BBQ sauce was the perfect level of spice. Very friendly people and very attentive. Loaded Mac was so good. Onion rings were crispy and crunchy. You could taste the smoke flavor in the meat and it was tender.
