A friend told me to go there. It was worth it. Some of the best brisket I’ve ever had, cancel that, actually the “best” & I’m from KC & I eat a lot of BBQ. The owners are super friendly with the customers. Cars from NE & IA.Also got to try their Smoked corned beef sample. Also delicious. Will go out if my way to come back next time I’m in town. Took a pic & send it to my husband & friend. Only down side…didn’t have a cooler with me so I could bring the rest back home!
Great people and great food. The smoked turkey was super juicy and the brisket was the perfect texture. The portions were cut fresh when I ordered and more than I could possibly eat in on sitting, Oh and the pulled pork…shredded right in front of you! A+
We stumbled on Smokin Barrel BBQ while trying to find a place to eat near our location. What a treat! We both had the brisket sandwich, and each tried a side, potato salad and baked beans. There was so much meat on the sandwich that I only ate half of my bun, and my husband didn't eat any. They had two sauces on the table and the they were both delicious. I would have loved to try the sausages, but they were sold out by the time we got there, and the ribs and pulled pork looked very good, as well. It was so tasty that we got some to go for the next day's lunch. We were told that on Friday and Saturday they have specials such as tacos or pork bellly. Hopefully we'll be in Omaha for lunch one of these weekends!
The food was AMAZING, service was very fast and friendly. I had the corn beef special and it was thick, tender, smokey, and delicious! Sandwiches were carved and prepared right in front of you as the order is placed! 3 flavours of bbq sauce at the table...bourbon, sweet, and spicy
I’m from the southeast so I’ve had BBQ all over the Deep South. I was NOT expecting to find anything this good in Omaha. Might be the best I’ve had. Worth your time and your money.
I'm mad I can't give 6 stars! The BBQ is amazing and the sauces are fantastic! This place is a hidden gem and I think they hold the crown for best BBQ in the Omaha area. The Farm sandwich is a pile of deliciousness that literally makes me eat slower because I'm enjoying every single bite.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!Holy Herra- outstanding barbecue joint! My friend took me here for lunch and it was my first time eating here. The smell is amazing as soon as you walk in.The pulled pork sandwich is a huge helping of moist pulled pork (enough for 2 sammiches). I added pickles, jalapeños and onions. Plus their spicy bbq and their bourbon bbq sauce are so jam packed with flavor ? I mixed them both on my sandwich.The potato salad is perfect. The baked beans have delicious chunks of meat in them and the sauce is on point.
I gave Smokin Barrel BBQ a try today on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich. The meat was piled high, tasted smoky and it was very tender. However, the meat was room temp served on a room temp bun. I would've given 5 stars for warmed meat and especially a warm buttery toasted bun. I tried all three of their sauces and they were all good but I didn't fall in love. It would've been nice to have a white BBQ sauce option. The staff were nice, it seemed like a family business. It felt less like a restaurant and more like a BBQ Truck indoor dining area. Which was refreshing. I would recommend giving them a try.
This place is a legit hole in the wall BBQ gem. Small, inviting and delicious. The brisket, pulled pork and sausage were all excellent. The sandwiches are kinda expensive but had great portions with nice think cuts of brisket and plenty of pulled pork. Sauces were great, side were good. Potato salad was something to write home about. I will have to make this a regular lunch stop.
I love Terry Black's BBQ in Texas. Smokin' Barrel is very equal to that well known bbq. It is so wonderful to find a world class array of meats!!!!! Right here in Omaha!!!! Beans are great as well! And the owners are salt of the earth folks!!!!! If you don't experience Smokin' Barrel, you are missing out!!!
