Cute atmosphere, fun music, good food! Try the cornbread! I wasn't a fan of the potato salad, but everything else was amazing! The corn was AWESOME!
Sides tasted like typical frozen and microwaved sides that every restaurant has. Sides were definitely microwaved, and tasted somewhat plastic, so they're clearly microwaved closer to the beginning of the day and sitting in lined steam wells that are leaching chemicals into sides all day long. Absolutely unacceptable to be using plastic in steam wells. Meat was bland, tasted like there wasn't much seasoning, and was pretty dry. Staff was mostly rude teenagers standing around. They filled sauce ramekins without gloves while also touching money and the cash register, so much cross contamination going on in this place. Sauce ramekins didn't get capped for at least 30 minutes. Any to go orders put out while I was there were prepared without gloves. Definitely would not recommend take out or any food here, unsafe, unsanitary, bland food, and rude staff are not worth the trip. Also wish I had read reviews of this place, whoever the owner is doesn't take any criticism well and instead resorts to being extremely rude to previous customers.
This is my first time ever having food from Porky Butts...it is seriously some of the best sausage I've ever had!! My husband was in love with the juicy turkey. We both were infatuated with the beans!! A MUST have!!
First time eating at this establishment and the 25 minutes waiting to order was worth it. Be sure during busy times, send a person from your group to get a table while the rest of your group waits in line to order. Burnt ends have to be my favorite on the menu; and the brisket chili is definitely worth mentioning. French fries were perfect. Sausage and pulled pork were very good and I liked having a choice of spicy barbecue sauce that was available at each table. For the amount of food; I think that price was very reasonable. I do like a cold beer with my BBQ; but not offered here. This will not keep me from ever coming back though.
This was our first experience with porky butts and let me tell ya, worth every penny! I got the brisket sandwich, there is easily enough brisket on there for two! The toasted bun makes it even more delicious. Do not skip the cornbread when you come here. For a simple side, I could easily eat an entire pan on my own! We missed the sides this time, but the staff were excellent with customer service! We can easily see this becoming our new favorite go to eatery and can't wait to go back soon!!
Food is great. Management is poor. Waiting in line to place an order...took a while but not a problem. They announce that tables are full so doing carryout. Not a big deal...Will take home and eat. Get to register say will place to go. 90 minute wait..but if I get for dine in it is only 30 minute wait. BUT I MAY NOT GET A TABLE. How does that work? I am fine bringing home but have to wait an extra hour. Fine, place the order for dine in. BUT now they are out of ribs. 6:30 on a Saturday and already out of ribs. Love the food but mgmt is poor. Online ordering sometimes works sometimes doesn't. Phone is rarely answered to place a carry out order.
Absolutely fantastic food and service. Like any other good barbecue joint if you go there late sometimes they're out of things. That's because it's delicious! Everything on the menu is good if they're out of what you want order something else. You'll be pleasantly surprised! Try the turkey it's incredibly juicy and flavorful every single time!!!
This very well may be some of the best BBQ in the country. Most definitely the best in town.. Their pulled pork sandwich is the best I've ever had. The smoked beans are amazing with great flavor. Staff is top notch and do an amazing job. On the rare occasion something is incorrect with my order they fix it promptly. Expect to wait because this place is almost always busy. It's worth the wait I promise!! I hope they stick around for years to come.
Hands down the best BBQ n town, probably in the Midwest. Out of the many times I have been here the food is consistently good. One time they forgot my sauce and cornbread on a to go order so check twice before you leave, but the food more than made up for it. Do yourself a favor and get the burnt ends. Will be back!
Great experience. Clean and organized. Staff was nice, efficient and seemed to want to provide a good experience. The food tasted great and was filling. I ordered the brisket and burnt ends. The second meal was brisket and pit ham. Everything was hot and flavorful. Not expensive at all for the amount food served. I will be going back.
