The employees did a good job of taking my order, getting my food in a timely manner and getting my order correct. They, like many other fast food businesses, are short staffed and did the best they could. Food was very tasty. Only thing that could've been better is the cleanliness of the place, went there about 4pm and all the tables were dirty, so I sat at the least dirty table.
I seriously thought I was being punked...Ashton K was going to come out and say that what was happening in this store isn't real. Let's start with how dirty and nasty this location is. Wasn't a matter of being busy or no staff, there was plenty of people working and only 2 people eating in this location. Bring your kids to work??? There was a 4 years old girl walking around in the food prep area, around hot grease and food. The food was nasty. Chicken tastes old and will never eat here again. The manager if this location needs to seriously consider what's happening in this location and make some changes quickly.
Worst experience I've had at a Popeyes before. I got to the window and then after about 4-5 minutes they asked me to pull up. Then I waited for 10 minutes and went inside asking if they had my food, then no one knew I was even waiting. 3 different people got involved, and no one knew what they were doing. The employees then spent more time arguing and fighting with each other than they did trying to actually get me my food. Finally the manager came over and then asked me what I had. I explained but she didn't understand so she ended up giving me the wrong food. One of the girls tried to tell the manager she was wrong and then she kept telling the girl "I got it" and ignored her worker. Then the girl in drive thru found my food and tried to give me the food that had been sitting out for over 10 minutes when she forgot about me until the girl who got ignored by the manager told her "don't give him that nasty food. It's been sitting out this whole time. Get him fresh food." If I could leave a review if 0/5 I would.
I ordered a 12 piece meal from the drive thru window, but when I arrived home, I discovered there were only 10 pieces in my meal. When I called back to complain, the manager never apologized and eventually hung up on me while J was still talking. I had a similar experience the last time I visited this location. The food tasted fine, but the service is AWFUL!!!! Oh, and one more thing. I went to the web address on the receipt to provide some feedback regarding my experience. I had to complete a survey with approximately 60 questions before I could leave an account of my experience. Ridiculousness!
The food's always been good but the service has always been slow. Even when they had first opened it was still kind of slow when they were fully staffed. Well this isn't a huge complaint on one occasion I did have to wait nearly 40 minutes just to get my food, and I had to be an a hole about it as well to get my food which I don't enjoy doing.Considering the food's always been good I can give it four stars. I don't go here unless I have 20 minutes.
My husband went thru the drive thru at about 8:30. I have always been happy with my order. This night, I felt that the chicken was overcooked and so was the biscuits. I felt like because we came later, we got the bottom of the barrel. We got the 8 piece box and ended up with 5 very small wings that were overcooked and dry!
Things have been going down here. I never complained not even when they leave out the pies or a side but tonight was the worst experience. The food was awful. Chicken tasted like it was sitting all day. Looked like it too. The rice was hard AF. Fries were cold and tasted old. The Cole slaw was decent. The biscuits were the only thing worth eating. No hot sauce. No honey. Greasy napkins. We won't bother giving Popeyes another chance.
I ordered a regular fish sandwich combo. They asked me to park, because it would be six minutes to cook the fish. 20 minutes later no fish. I go inside and the teller apologizes and fixes my order. Luke warm fish and fries. Thanks Popeyes.
They messed up my order, maybe because the girl was too busy playing on her phone. Luckily I checked my bag before I left the drive through. When I got home the popcorn shrimp was so hard I could of broke my tooth on it. It had to be sitting there for hours before serving it to me. I was so disgusted because I normally love Popeyes food. I also asked for a large mashed potatoes and gravy and they gave me a small red beans and rice. Do they just randomly put what they want in bags? And to top it off I asked for a couple pieces of chicken and they charged me for a meal. I'm never going back to the L street location again!
The service is great, the food is great and the place is clean, but if you have a friend or family member who works here and is the reason for those good reviews and comments they will underpay and over work that employee. The pay rate is small compared to the amount of dedication you can watch someone put into this place. I simply hate it for how they treat their employees the regionals dont care about any GM they have. Just as long as that GM or any employee shows up and bust their butts for little to nothing. Advancements in this place don't come until your about to die.
