Showed up early for our reservation, so we said we would wait at bar until there was a open table. They eventually set us up and we were able to set down. The waitress did ok, but was slow. When food showed up, my red snapper looked a bit overdone. It was so overcooked the fish was like rubber and could not be cut. It was taken back and manager did respond, but responded by defending the chef, saying it was hard to cook just right. I told him the alleged chef obviously did not plate my fish and defending him did not work for me. We have eaten there several times prior and the we also had mussels and shrimp that were all tiny. Not the place it used to be!

Great oysters, cocktails and service
BEST Lobster Roll in the Midwest! One of our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE restaurants and meals. We go with the Calamari appetizer and Lobster Roll with fries meal. The thought of trying something else is there, but this meal is so GREAT and really THE reason we go to plank. The vegetables and calamari with the tartar sauce and smoked marinara is a wonderful tasting start to the meal. The fries with the meal are very good, a nice crispness to them, and the Lobster Roll is an ABSOLUTE STAR & DELICIOUS! The lobster is lightly dressed, enough to enhance the lobster, but not overpower it, and the bun, buttered and toasted really makes the the lobster roll pop and may be my FAVORITE bun of any Lobster Roll. Personally, as a final touch I like to pair it with an Anchor Steam. My opinion is you need to hit the coast for a better Lobster Roll and this is still going to be close!
We throughly enjoyed our time at Plank. Our waitress was warm and hospitable. The food was tasty and fresh. We arrived for happy hour, so the pricing was reasonable, especially for the cocktails.
Outstanding. The lobster roll is tremendous, the oysters are perfect. The cobb salad was outstanding with sun dried tomatoes and bacon. The Southern Fried Fish and shrimp was good. Honestly, get the peel and eat shrimp and then just get the fried catfish, it was perfect

Really outstanding food. Fresh, tasty and cooked well. Waiter was professional, knew the menu, knew the beer and wine and contributed positively to the dining experience. Had oysters on the half shell and they were fresh and tasty. Had scallops which were outstanding and the walleye was very good as well. Overall for me this was almost a 5 star experience and I expect when I go back and try more menu items assuming they are equally good⦠probably would change to a 5 star overall.
