When entering the restaurant, you can immediately appreciate how clean it is. Our server (who wore gloves before preparing any of the dishes) was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent suggestions. The menu is similar to chipotle style in the sense you can creat your own bowl or choose an option that’s pre-made. The food is then made in front of you (chipotle style) and served warm, fresh and, delicious. Regarding options, the menu tailors to most dietary restrictions which is great! The pricing is fairly reasonable for the portion size and quality.I would highly recommend this place and thankful to expand Omaha’s multicultural dinning experience!
I love this place so much! The food is always fresh and delicious and portioned beautifully. The service has been consistently fast and friendly! I travel to Omaha several times a year and I always make sure to stop in. I hope they will someday have locations in other cities so I can enjoy it more often!
Have had their food a few times now. Tonight I had a veggie build-a-bowl. Yum. Tasty and very substantial. Something in it was slightly hot but not too, and the flavors all came through. Sharp staff, quick prep. It's so good to have this African option. The place is too small fast-casual for me to enjoy staying there, but they're moving soon, so we'll see what that's like.
The lamb was fall off the bone tender without being dry, the red rice and the house tomato paired with the meat and other sides really well. I need to go back and try more items on this interesting menu!
Went here with my sister in law and my 6 month old daughter and we absolutely LOVED it! Not only was the food delicious, there were vegan options, refreshing lemonade and we chatted with the owner who is a minority woman from Africa. Support your local minority businesses, people! The food was authentic, the energy was so warm and we enjoyed it so much we ordered take out from Okra’s the following week. I’m definitely looking forward to going back! Even baby Olivia loved the flavors!
My first time there was on 12/15/2021 on the heels of a severe thunderstorm. The owner, Nina, was a charming and friendly host which made the visit worthwhile, but that only scratched the surface. The food was amazing. Intricate flavor combinations with just the right amount of spark to get and keep your attention, but not overpower the meal. Her marinades and recipes brought from Togo, Africa, are delicious, intriguing and multi-faceted.I definitely recommend Okra African Grill. It's a delightful surprise and a taste adventure in Omaha.
Tried this place for the first time yesterday & I loved my selection. This was my first time trying African cuisine. I got Nina’s lamb special bowl & it was very tasty! I will definitely be back! The Mango, Pineapple lemonade was good too!!
Super yummy and super nice folks working there. I had never had this type of cuisine before and asked for a lot of recommendations from the staff… I was not disappointed!!! This place is great. I’m visiting from out of town and I’ve eaten here twice this week.
The food was so delicious with the tender meat perfectly cooked veggies and melt in your mouth plantains. Hidden gem of a restaurant. Clean & stylish dining area. They even have African beer. Check it out.
My husband and I both really enjoyed our food! I got a chicken bowl with peanut sauce and plantains. The fried plantains were my favorite part-delicious! My husband had a lamb bowl and said it was the best lamb he’s ever had. Highly recommend this place!
