The bartender was slow to make our drinks. They were both two ingredient drinks that came out after our appetizers. And we overheard that he insulted another coupleâs drink order. The glassware was basic. A $13 cocktail in an Art Deco restaurant should have pretty coupes to match the period. My mule came in a juice glass. The appetizers were okay. Brussels were tough. Disappointed that the menu online did not match the menu in the restaurant. Seasonal changes make sense, but it should be reflected in the online menu. One of the reasons I chose to go to Monarch last night was for a dish that was no longer available. Had I known, I mightâve spent my ONLY night out somewhere else. All that said⦠the entrees tasted great! We both cleared our plates of everything. I will trying to copycat their halibut dish! It was an alright date, but next time I drive across town Iâll probably choose somewhere else. Decent value for a special occasion: 2 apps, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, 6 drinks ~ $200
The food was good. We had the 1/2 Charcuterie and cheese board, Steak Frites, and Island Salmon. Overall seemed overpriced for the value. The steak to frites ratio was subpar and parts were over cooked. Service was pretty slow for not so big of a space, lacking a formal introduction consisting of a welcome, waitressâs name, and forgot to supply the drink menu. We grabbed drinks at the bar prior to our dinner reservation and unfortunately I was double charged for our two drinks, which one was made with Admiral Nelson when we requested captain Morgan. Saving grace was the ambiance and taste of the food.
This place is beautiful and that is the only reason why I’m giving it one star. First of all the wait staff and management that work at this establishment are rude or at best they would just ignore your table completely for 1 hour while you are waiting for your food or a beverage refill. The food for the most part is bland and tasteless, even though the average main course is about $30. As a side note, we were told that the chicken is very good but the sides that come with it are, again, blend and tasteless. The drinks were average. The main issue was the lack of communication between the waiter and our table, as we sat and waited for our food for more than an hour. One of the member of our party is diabetic, and we have to ask another waiter if he could locate our server, which completely disappeared for 40 minutes, or if he could send a manager to our table, but when the manager arrived she was extremely rude and condescending. After all the time we waited for our meal to arrive, it also was wrong and it came at different times, so by the time we were all served half of the food was luke-warm.We were very disappointed at this price point for the service and quality of the food. Despite the fact that we were treated like garbage we still tipped the waiter and left without making a scene.I would suggest this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a nice location for pictures, but that would be it. Do not expect good food and definitely do not expect good service.
Poor service and cold food! Definitely would not go again or recommend to a friend!
Celebrated our Justice of the Peace wedding at the Monarch. Our waiter, Luis, was so fantastic with our small party! The food was exceptional; our compliments to the chef!
The food was delicious and our server Stephen did a great job. Service was slow at first but Stephen apologized and gave us good service and comped our dessert.
Love the locally sourced food and intimate boutique style setting.
They were not open. Very disappointing. No notification anywhere that they were closed until staff member said they were not serving brunch and had pastries available at the bar.
We made reservations and traveled 30 minutes Sunday Morning to eat and upon arrival it was closed for remodeling. We have been wanting to try but this does not help
The food was delicious. The lamb was cooked perfectly and was tender and well seasoned. The desserts were amazing and prefect for sharing (or not sharing too). The service was quick and very friendly. I will definitely be back.
