Sad I can only give this restaurant 5 starts because it definitely deserves 10. My boyfriend and I went for date night. We started off the cheese fried ravioli. It was fantastic! I got the spinach chicken tortellini with red sauce and a side of white sauce (I love mixing both sauces together). My boyfriend had their Saturday special, sausage tortellini with red sauce. Both entrées were absolutely phenomenal. The food was hot, had so much flavor and you can tell everything is homemade.On top of having a wonderful dinner, we also had excellent service. I don’t remember our waitresses name but she was one of the best waitresses we’ve ever had. She was so sweet, attentive, checked on us serval times and even boxed our leftovers.We ended the night with a piece of their homemade cheesecake. This was also amazing and a must have. 10/10.No other Italian places compare to Malaras. Malaras will always be one of my favorites. ❤️
First things first, food is top notch. I had lasagna and my wife had spaghetti with the brascioli. Both dishes were amazing. We had the house salad as well as the mozzarella sticks and a bottle of Pinot. All food was hot, fresh and most of all delicious. I think a total of four different servers stopped to check in on us during our meal. That was top notch service. I'm a little saddened to see some of these reviews with low marks, I don't think the can come close to the reality of the exceptional service and treatment we received this evening. If you are looking for an Authentic Italian Experience when it comes to food and dine in Esthetics this is the place to be. When I walked in its like I walked into little Italy. The food smelled so good, the pasta is made fresh in house, and the servers are to die for and know just what to do to give you that home away from home feeling. It's so clean and just Magnificent... I approve this place and recommend to those who enjoy Italian food.
I have tried many of the Italian restrants in Omaha looking for the best. I have now found it!! Well done Malara's I will be returning.
Best Italian around, bar none. Great friendly staff that uses quality ingredients and still decently priced. I go out of my way to visit as often as I can, and I recommend it to anyone craving something authentic!
We had a fun, family birthday celebration at Malara's. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere and running into friends there.
I really appreciate places that make food from scratch but for the price of what we paid, this really missed the mark.We ordered chicken parm with green beans and a full order of fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken. The fettuccine alfredo was the better of the two dishes we ordered. We liked the pasta, the sauce, and the serving size. The only issue with that meal was that the chicken was not seasoned and was very bland.The chicken parm was the big disappointment for us. The breading was seasoned well but the chicken was over cooked. This was the first chicken parm I've gotten that didn't come served on spaghetti so that was surprising. The green beans were good. Comparing the portions of the chicken parm and the chicken alfredo, because they were both the same price, it was disappointing how little pasta you get with the chicken parm. There is an option to get an additional side cup of pasta in place of the green beans but I don't think that would have made the two dishes equal portions.
Was in town this week and my customer recommended. I was on a business trip and planned on eating there. I was by myself and did not want to sit in the formal dining room at a table by myself. Asked the server/hostess if I could sit at the bar -- she refused. I guess it was too much to ask for a placemat, utensils and a meal at an open bar. And, obviously, they did not need a new customer. I politely left and went somewhere else.
Would be 4 out of 5. They have the best meatballs I've ever tried. Definitely going back for the meatball sandwich soon. The chicken parm wasn't cooked all the way and was really hard.
