You better have money or this is not the place for you to dine lol. The food is pretty good, I'm originally from Texas and my families from Mexico so I'm as Mexican as they come. It's been a little hard to find somewhere where there's Mexican food that tastes like home. I really like their asada tacos! Al-Pastor weren't bad, I just didn't care for the pineapple lol. But the service was pretty good.
We were seated, and received chips and salsa. However, after not seeing anyone else for 15 MINUTES, I went up to the hostess to ask if she had told anyone about us - at which point she told the waiter that he was assigned to our table.The waiter was friendly, and service was fairly quick from there, but guac and cheese were missing from my husband's order, the meat was not seasoned, and my chicken was dry. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. We will be trying other local restaurants for Mexican food.
Disappointed. I’ve been to this restaurant 20 times probably. It’s a standby for us. Mostly though I’ve gone before the new ownership. I’m giving a one star because they recently did a remodel and it leaves much to be desired. The bathrooms smelled horribly. They were also filthy. Debris on the floor-trash cans heaping-two toilets not working with urine or feces in them. If my kids wouldn’t have been with me I would have left immediately. I can’t imagine what the kitchen looks like if they clean their bathrooms with so little care.
Normally great place to eat but this location has seen a steep decline in service. After being seated it took almost 30 minutes to get our order in. Then it took over an hour to get our food. Meanwhile two couples that came after us had there food ordered and at the same hier tabled in under 30 minutes. They weren't extremely busy that it should have taken this long. Food was bland and poorly seasoned. After the waitresses gave us our check we did not see her again for at least 20 minutes. I even asked other waitresses to get her. Unless something changes I will never visit this location again.
We used to come in all the time and it was amazing all around. How today on mother's day of all days we had a bad experience. We sat down our waiter came over and we order our food and drinks. Thought all was good wrong. We waited forever for our food and our waiter gave us refills that wasn't what we order. Then we sat even longer for our food and some lady came out with our food that wasn't even our waiter. Then our waiter finally came over asked if we are doing ok and we said yes he hands us our bill and we haven't even started eating much. To me that is rude to hand us our bill like that. That means to me that the waiter wanted u to hurry up and go. Then we finally was done eating and we waited 20 mins for someone so we could pay however we got tried of waiting so my man got up and went to the bar and to the front to get service. He was ignored. Then finally my man told someone if he didn't get service we are just going to leave then he finally got service after my man said that. We never have a problem here but this time was bad and was not a great time for us Exspecially on mother's day???
Great food. Love this place. They were a little busy and slow tonight. They might have been understaffed. But foods always worth the wait here. Staff is always super friendly.
The fajitas were good but the rice and beans were just microwaved.. there were not heated properly.. The monitor was not worth the price.. it came in a very small glass and there barely put any alcohol in it... kids menu is also over priced... generally not impressed
Great food! La Mesa has comfort food for all tastes and diets! I love their chips and salsa and their tacos are delicious.
Food was decent, but service was lacking. Had to wait 20 minutes for a refill and the alcohol beverages were refilled before just the waters which is odd. It wasn't exceptionally busy, but we had a large party and we're seated around a corner out of eyesight so assume that was probably the issue with wait times
The food was just OK. A member of our table ordered a Torta and it was less than expected for standard. My table and I felt as if we were an inconvenience to the staff. Everyone was short and seemed annoyed with our presence. It was not a welcoming experience and I don't think we will return. I'm honestly really disappointed.
