Disappointing. No longer a favorite go to in the Omaha area. Porterhouse is what I ordered and expected it to be prime quality. Not even close.
Best Whiskey Ribeye I have ever had. The beef skewers and fried ravioli were really good. Our server Misty was amazing.
Excellent wait staff. Good by the glass wine selection and food was good.
Food was as good as Iâve had in Omaha. Service was outstanding.
Everything was great. Took a little while to get our food, but well worth the wait.
I made reservations at Gorat's based on a post by a friend who was in Omaha attending the CWS. We were quickly seated by the hostess in one of the dining rooms that was filled with patrons, many of which were Ole Miss baseball fans like us who had attended the CWS where Ole Miss won the National Championship. Service was not the best as two tables who were seated after us were immediately waited on by their servers. Our server eventually did make her way to our table and we placed our order. Small filet ordered by my wife was great. My son and I ordered the New York strips. He enjoyed his. Mine was tougher than I expected - should have ordered the filet like my wife. Best dish - onion rings. Our meal could have been better with a more attentive server who was busier attending other tables than ours. Overall, even though the service was not as anticipated, the cost of the meal was very reasonable.
I would have gotten the ribeye but smallest was 16 oz.
Quality of food was bad. Cold prime rib.
We were disappointed in our dining experience here. We are traveling cross-country and searching out the best steak houses and BBQ joints. We read that Goratâs was a favorite of Warren Buffett and that it has been an institution in Omaha for 70 years. So, we decided this would be our restaurant in Omaha. Unfortunately, the House Specialty T-Bone steak was overcookedâdry and tough as leather. The Filet Mignon was betterâtender and tasty. The onion rings were great. The âloaded potatoâ was anything but. You got a potato with a small dollop of sour cream and about 3 bacon bitsâI am not exaggerating. This was an add-on cost, too. The server offered to take the T-Bone back and bring out another, but weâre believers in âGet it right the first timeâ. So, maybe some might say âYour badâ. The hostess, Lisa, was the best thing about Goratâs. She was lively, animated, friendly and eager to make the situation rightâhence 3 stars instead of 2 stars. She took one look at the steak and immediately got the manager involved. The manager concurred with Lisa and waived the cost of the steak, making things right. Maybe we ate on an off night.
Very cold. Three of us ordered prime rib, two medium and one medium rare. They were all identical and we were told that we had all ordered medium rare. Salad good. Dirty martini excellent. Nothing but the martini was memorable.
