we called for reservations and were told they didn't take the but if we show up we will would be fine. we drove from Beatrice. they were closed at 5pm. it was my mom's 83rd birthday. idk why you couldn't have told me you were closed for dinner when I called at noon. why not update you hours.
Used to serve bread, tonight we had to ask for it Beer on their drink menu was not available They did not have ranch dressing!! Two orders were messed up Worst…. They overcharged $2.00 on 3 of our 5 orders. Had we not taken pics of the menu we would have been Stuck with the overcharge!! We used to love the place…. Will not be going back
We need to see more recent comments. Last weekend we not only had a waitress so rude we moved outdoors, they also made the worst martini ever. The martinis were a real draw but not any more. Two of the three entrees were good.
I had a fantastic dinner here last night with friends who drove from Lincoln. I recommend the Raspberry Salmon-very tasty! Our server Cameron knew that we weren't in a hurry, so she gave us our space to catch up but did not leave us waiting or wanting anything. We can't wait to come back when the weather is nicer and sit outside.
What a sad experience we will never be back! We came in as we usually do for drinks and appetizers at 7:45pm. In the middle of eating we were asked if we would want anything else because the kitchen was closing but the bar would stay open.(we were sitting in the bar area) halfway through our drinks at 8:15 pm we were told the manager decided to close the bar down. (The hours state they are open till 11pm but apparently business was too slow) music was turned off lights were dimmed and we felt so awkward. Basically a hurry up and get the hell out of here. Left and went to Varsity next door for drinks. This may be why business is slow. Making paying customers who want to be there to feel uncomfortable and shoved out the door. We will never bother with this place again!
We love that Charlie's has gone back to their roots with their atmosphere. It is a lovely place to enjoy a meal. There are so many delicious dishes on the menu that you really can't go wrong, and the cheesecake is the best in the city!

Charlie's is amazing! We got married in the banquet hall on December 11. The food and service was absolutely amazing - we had the prime rib buffet. The staff was incredible and so accommodating. The manager even helped hang my dress for a picture. We will come here for years to come!
Just discovered this place after 7 years in Omaha, and I'm sorry I didn't find it sooner. I have been twice now and lived it each time. It's a huge place with a big bar - perfect for game watching, large indoor dining area, and a large outdoor dining area. Food and service were great both times. Love the 2 lbs of mussels. It gets quite busy, so chose your dining times wisely.
Party of 11 of us went for dinner to celebrate. The service was great. The food however, was not good. Not a single person at our table enjoyed their entree. Mind you, I'm probably one of the least picky when it comes to food. I will eat literally anything along with many other people there. I had the Cajun catfish. Not sure why it needed half a pound of cheese and mushrooms towered on top of it. I'd just expect more from a place with that kind of pricing.
