This was our first time here after driving past this place hundreds of times. Easy off and on I80!Lunch at 1:40pm the place was pretty quiet. Huge seating area, I’m sure they pack em’ in. Winners of, Best of Omaha 2020.Chips, bean dip, tasty kinda spicy salsa (my wife asked for mild & they delivered) and a slaw arrived quickly on our table. Slaw was interesting/never had slaw Mexican restaurantI ordered the burrito with chicken on the lunch menu (goes til 3pm) with oya beans and rice. My better half got the shredded beef tostado beans and rice + and lime house marg. Our food arrived In good times and it was Extremely hot temperature wise. The chicken burrito was full of pretty good juicy white chicken meat, LOTS of sauce, good beans and rice. It did get a little soggy because it had to cool to eat. HOT food served here! The tostado didn’t do so well. Upon arrival it was too hot to touch and ended up being soggy. The shredded beef was good, guac was ok, beans and rice were enjoyed.Afterwards we both kinda felt like a sodium bomb was served.I’m not sure we liked it enough to stop again?
Our visit today was mediocre and borderline disappointing. We ordered the two enchiladas combo, a quesadilla with carne Asada meat (we were told there would be an up charge for the meat substitution, and Pollo de crema and just had waters to drink. We snacked on the chips and salsa while we waited for our order but never saw our waiter again for water refills. Eventually another gal came by for more water. Thr intial plate brought out was incorrect. Instead of the enchiladas we were brought a wrong dish of tacos of some sort. Our waiter immediately fixed it and brought the correct dish, but we didn't see him again. The quesadilla wasn't cut, which was odd. The Pollo de crema was different than I thought it'd be as you have to assemble it yourself and the sauce with the meat was quite messy doing this. It tasted fine but isn't something I'd order again. With how messy it was, it would've been nice having more than the one napkin each on our table, but again we never again saw our waiter. The beef enchiladas were rated a 7/10. When it came to pay our ticket we weren't sure what to do since we hadn't seen anyone and ventured towards the bar. We ran into our waiter doing this and he told us we could meet him at a register to cash out. For the 3 items we had, by menu prices our ticket should've been $35 with the exception of the surcharge for meat substitution but he said our total was $54, he didn't give us an itemized receipt. We didn't realize the prices until we got home to realize we were overcharged. It's not an experience which makes us inclined to want to try again. Also, the women's restroom had no paper towels.
Just pulled in to the Econolodge in Omaha, tired and hungry. After checking with the clerk at the front desk, we were referred to Azteca Restaurant which luckily was just across the road. In less than 5 minutes, we were being greeted and seated and a very nice waitress was taking our drink orders. The Azteca looks to be quite old but seems to be very well kept and extremely organized. The decor was early ‘70s but we’ll maintained. After a sufficient amount of Margarita, Dos Equis and bowls of chips, we ordered the exact same entree……a chicken enchilada and a beef taco which also was accompanied by refried beans and Spanish rice. The entrees arrived on a plate that had to be 150 degrees. We were warned!! The food was delicious and I am not exaggerating, the plate was still warm when we were finishing up the last bites 20 minutes later. If you want it and you want it hot, there is no other place to come.
This was my fork idk how I didn't notice it right away till my last bite nearly cut my lip open. My family likes this place for some reason they must be fans of small portions tasteless food and bean dip that is 70% water next time my sister wants to come here for her birthday I'm not getting guilted into it never setting foot in here again our waitress was very nice though she gets an extra star on this
We've been here several times. I can't say that it's ever been exceptional. They do have a good blended strawberry margarita. On this visit the tacos were a bit flavorless. Plain unseasoned meat. And I did not care for the size of margaritas. $9 for a large for what's considered medium most other places. I will most likely not be going here again.
We'll be back FOR SURE ❤️?? GotAl Pastor Street Tacos with Colorado Burrito She got Taco Enchilada Platter with bean and rice. AUTHENTIC RIDICULOUSLY MEXICAN FLAVOR!!! ??❤️??
One of the delicious taco’s that I’ve tried, %100 recommended, oh and service was great.
They had awesome salsa and service, but the food was not good. Everything is made with very cheap ingredients. Even their guacamole and tortillas both tasted like something cheap, bought from a grocery store. I have to add once again, their salsa was VERY tasty and had a good amount of spiciness! We ordered extra to go and will be back to get salsa only.
My friend and I stopped in for lunch. They gave us lunch menus and upon comparing them to the regular menus there was not a price difference. That part was a little disappointing. The food was pretty good. I had a ground beef tostada and it was plate size so definitely bigger than I expected. It was a bit pricey though at 9.95 and that was without rice and beans. They also serve a been dip with your chips along with almost like a dry coleslaw. Those were tasty but the salsa was not great for my liking.
The Chicken Tortilla Soup was delicious! The Chimichanga was also good.I found the cabbage salsa interesting, I added some of the red salsa to it to give it a kick! Our server was polite and attentive.Overall a good experience
