Started our meal with Gumbo Poutine fries.❤❤❤ Then we ordered tonight's special, pork belly burnt ends, followed by homemade Peach ice cream...YUMMY!
I didn't like what I had, red beans and rice. I was expecting it to have a roux base, but it was tomato with diced vegetables. I didn't like the sausage, but that's just me. I think they made it. It had big chunks of meat in it and was chewy. Like I said, what I ordered was just different than I expected. The server was great. I had blackberry ice cream for dessert. It was excellent.
First time! There will be repeat visits. The staff was so helpful, happy, knowledgeable and patient! I have a severe allergy which makes eating out very difficult, not here. Precautions taken assurances provided and again patient. Delicious god that vines out quick, ideal for a lunch break. Thank you!

Shrimp and grits, it'll change your life! It was so good I was upset when I finished it. The wait staff was young and did their best and were friendly. There is definitely a difference in a dining experience with a more mature wait staff but it's not my place and staffing is freakishly crazy 'these days' so I understand. The owner chatted with us for a while, good guy! And again... I forgot to take pictures.

I urged my partner to try this place because I read the reviews…mistake! It’s our 1st and definitely the LAST. Keegan (our server) told us to choose our table, we decided to take a smaller table since it’s just two of us, the other tables are occupied anyway. The table was dirty, so we waited. Keegan once again told us to choose a table, we said “we did, but it’s dirty”. He wiped the table, I had to grab some napkins to wipe the chairs. We only had a minute or two to check the menu, when he came back to ask if we’re ready to order. I asked for a few minutes, he decided that’s his cue … he told us about their “special for the day” I asked for a few more minutes. He asked what do we want for drinks. My partner ordered iced tea, I asked for coke - light on ice. Keegan said the machine is broken, but when he checked, he said it got fixed, then he gave me a glass of coke almost filled with ice ?I ordered The Black Cat, my partner ordered the Smoked Chicken Thighs…the Chicken is black, and it’s not because of the spices! My fish was ok. The price of the chicken on the menu is $14, they charged us $16.50 (we can afford to pay - it’s the principle). Also, we felt rushed. To sum it up…I’m one unhappy camper.?
This is a hard review; the food was good. Sadly, things were downhill from the start. The host could not locate our reservation so we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. Additionally, they were out of most of the things we wanted to order. The worst, we ended up waited 90+ minutes for our food to arrive. We watched tables come and go while none of the waitresses came by to check on us. It turned out our ticket was lost but the fact that it took this long to notice while never checking on our table bombed the rating. I will say, on previous visits, this was not the experience. Overall, I will give them a chance at redemption some time down the line.
The staff are friendly! The food is soo delicious. I tried the scallop cakes and they were super good. The jambalaya was also very tasty.
