I took my hubby here for lunch today and we both loved it. The fried catfish is the best I’ve had anywhere!
Unique eatery located in the Benson neighborhood in North Omaha. Unique in terms of the style of food you get for the location of this midwestern area. You will find things like Mexican and Italian everywhere you go, but to see Cajun, and especially seeking the New Orleans style and feel is not very common to find. We decided to try the Cajun shrimp tacos and the Andouille smothered fries. We split both, so we each had more than one things to try. Both of us found both items to be quite good. Things we’d certainly not hesitate to try again. However, there is a broad menu, so we would not mind exploring a bit as well. Staff was friendly and helpful. They were a little underprepared when we showed up close to open time, so there was a bit of a wait, but they were very forthcoming about it before we ordered, so we knew what to expect. We were in no hurry, so we ordered and found a table, and the wait was under what they predicted. Place had an older unique feel (in a good way), and best we could tell, is it seemed like a former auto service shop converted into this. But again, in a good vibe type of way. They have ice cream for desert and a lot of unique flavors along with a story of how it came about. I have photos of that stuff as well, if you want to read it. Over all, we liked this place. I’ve been to NOLA 4 of the past 5 years, and enjoy the local food. So it was nice to find something like this so far North. We are not from Omaha, but we are a lot closer to Omaha than NOLA, so we plan to come here again.
Very friendly staff . I enjoyed my catfish and fries . I expected it to have more flavors and spices . The neighborhood seemed real boojee we tried the coffee shop next door it was like hipster joint you see in the movies . I can understand why the food was made that why to please the locals which love it . The place was so busy on a Tuesday. You must try it . Warning If your a die hard Joe Tess fan you may not like it it’s not as greasy as Joe Tess.
It was good. I ordered the catfish friend. It was crispy and just the right of seasoning. I didnt like that it is overprice but then again, the restaurant is on the benson strip and that there is a price inflation going on. Portion is good.Probably not my go to on the weekly or daily basic but maybe once a while when I'm not broke and feel like I wanna spend more lol.
Being thankful not only shows good manners, but a simple expression of thankfulness can go a long way in relationships and communication with others. It not only enhances our own lives, but makes other people feel appreciated, I just withdraw my profit of $6,548 to my account thanks alot to MRS MELISSA CRYPTO, I now have full trust on you now, I started with $650 you can also give it a try, MRS MELISSA CRYPTO is real.. WoW, glad we had a recommendation to try out "A Taste of New Orleans" in the Benson neighborhood. The blackened catfish with the daily grits concoction was fantastic (sausage, peppers, yumminess), took home more than half of it for a later meal. The seafood combination plate was also excellent, receiving rave reviews for the fried catfish from someone that cooks an excellent catfish!!Sure parking is a challenge, but it's expected in this area.Look for the "A Taste of New Orleans" food truck!!
Ordered the Cajun shrimp fries drizzled in the Who Dat sauce. While I was eating it, a large group of elementary school girls walked passed and couldn’t help but do a double-take to look at this loaded beauty. I was about to offer them some but decided to save it all for myself. ?
Come support this local business! Ordered the catfish tacos. Excellent taste, huge portions, was greeted and served right away. I'll def be back to try other dishes.
We tried this place for the first time today, and we were definitely not disappointed! The food was was delicious, and the service was outstanding! The blackened catfish was a favorite, even with a very picky eater in our group. The portions are huge, and worth the price. I will say, it is hard to find fish/seafood that isn't "fishy" tasting, but they must be using quality ingredients, because there is no "fishy" taste, whatsoever. We will definitely be back, and can't wait to try more things on the menu!
absolutely amazing and fresh love this place
