Burnt ends were perfectly marbled & charred just right to stay fork tender. Brisket was juicy & smoked great with a rub with plenty of flavor.Mild sauce was smoky with a nice twang, chipotle sauce brought a southwest smokiness to the already tasty table.Sides like cheesy potatoes & slaw satisfied and were refreshing. Corn bread muffin served w honey & spread complimented the meal.?Follow Tobes Brisket Challenge for more national barbecue reviews…?
Showed up 5 minutes before closing and was told they were closed. Disappointed that they apparently officially close before their advertised time. People were still dining in and employees were clearly still working. Understand a closing time needs to be held but feel that time should adhere to the time posted. Suggest advertising time of closure AND time where service ends.
Frequently make the drive from Omaha to Lincoln to visit Phat Jacks. No burnt ends can compare! So exited for their new location - makes it even easier to jet over for lunch.Visited this week for the first time at the new spot - glad to see things are running smoothly again in the new space and had a chance to try the burnt ends, brisket, and pulled pork with a friend. We’ve also had an event catered - racks of ribs and Mac and cheese. Everyone raves about the food (plus plenty of leftovers for us!!!)Great people, great food!!! I’ll be back again soon!
Had lunch at the new location the other day. Nothing changed, still same great service and world class BBQ. Burnt ends, cheesy potatoes and Mac n’ cheese is always the perfect trifecta in my opinion. Smaller and more intimate but still tons of seating and there was little to know wait time. It was everything I needed and wanted in a quick sit down lunch. Return customer for life!!!!
Visiting from MN. This was great BBQ! Best burnt ends I have had in a really long time.
This is probably the best food in town but since they have moved to New location seems like they have ben hitting it Ruff but when they get there act back together they are some of the best BBQ in the Country. This is usually 5 stars but as of now it's actually a 3 star . They are out of everything it seems like everything is out of order and the employees both times I went in there are always saying sorry because they are always messing up . I hope they get it fixed because it truly was my favorite
Food is alright, best barbecue in Lincoln but that bar isn't very high. I don't plan on returning any time soon due to the complete lack of masks by employees and their sign complaining about the lack of workers due to "government handouts". I see they were happy to take a $32k PPP loan, so they don't actually seem to care about handouts, just want to blame someone for their inability to offer competitive pay in a free market.
The food here is incredible. I'm upset I didn't know about this place sooner. Portions are large, prices reasonable and the flavors are amazing. Sauces are great and they even have pickles sitting out you can help yourself too.If you can't figure out what to order, I'll make it easy for you. Just walk up to the counter and order the Brumm Daddy with a side of Mac and Cheese. You can thank me later.Everyone in the reviews complaining about them being sold out of one thing or another... it's because their food is THAT good!
Bought a half slab of ribs. Silly me, i thought they would be smoked. Not a bid of smoke flavor. Maybe they cooked them in the over. They were gray and white. Wont do that again.
Hit up the new location tonight. Food was great as always! Staff was a bit discombobulated but to be expected in a new layout. ???. Welcome to the neighborhood!
