One of our go-to places. Sushi and grill items are always excellent (get the filet mignon to grill, it practically melts in your mouth), service is casual but professional, just as I like. If there's anything I'd change it'd be to lower the noise level a notch as it can be tough to have a conversation.

Great food. You grill your own food at the table so you can cook it exactly as you like it. There are many options of meat to grill available as a complete dish or you can order a' la carte and try a bit of everything. Koen does have the usual Asian / American fare, but I suggest being adventurous and try something new. There are plenty of choices of Sashimi and Sushi or have it prepared with your own favorites. Of course there are some vegetarian plates, although to me, that seems not to be in the spirit of BBQ restaurant. I would definitely recommend reservations, at least on the weekends. My daughter and I were there on Father's day and it was as busy as I have ever seen it. The staff handled it well and provided great service as always. Each of the times I have to Koen there have been persons of Asian descent, it's always reassuring to see people of the same ethnicity as the restaurant eating at a place. Highly recommended.
We love the grill for meat which is very authentic Japanese. This time 2 cuts of the 5 we got were so tough we couldn't chew them or cut without the scissors. We hope it was a one off night because we love everything else. Be sure to get the Yaki-Shabu Bibimbap rice dish, amazing!
The meat was tender and flavorful, the drinks were tasty, the dessert was amazing and our waitress was attentive and helpful.
I’m disappointed. I had made a reservation expecting 8 people, only 6 showed up. Our waiter took almost an hour and a half to just take our order, while other tables, seating as many as us and arriving after us, were being attended to and receiving their meals before we had even ordered. They had the same waiter as us. The food was good when we finally got it, which is the only reason for 2 stars, but in total we were there for a little over 3 hours just because we had to wait.
Itâs definitely a regular restaurant to go to. Itâs a bit pricey. I wish server would tell you which meat was which.
They call it Japanese BBQ, but it’s actually Korean BBQ. Got seated immediately, waitress was very friendly and helpful. We order the meat platter, premium platter and a bunch of a la carte meat. They do not give you any of the little dishes like the Korean BBQ and the sauce is limited to soy sauce with different flavors. The rice (made with beef and some spices) and appetizers (tempura shrimp and Rangoon dumplings) were really good. The meat was very tasty, but the portions is kind of small, comparing to a typical American meal. Cooking the meat yourself allows you to cook it to your liking, for beef only. Make sure pork and chicken should be fully cooked before consumption. Dessert was tempura chess cake and it was very good. I would definitely come back the next time I’m in Lincoln. Price is reasonable, but the tables are kind of tight for a gas grill and plates of food.
