Used to be our favorite restaurant but not so much anymore ... very disappointed on our last visit. I can see why the parking lot was not full as usual and no wait to be seated on a Sunday for lunch. First was an attitude from the hostess seating us. Waitress service was slow/lacking. An order of Smokehouse Grilled Cheese sandwich was served burnt (totally black) on one side and the cheese not even melted (not hot) ... no way should it made its way to the table. They remade it and it was good ... just the bad taste of the disappointment & delay. Two orders of mashed potatoes were room temperature. No visit from the manager or offer of discount. Aside from the food, the floor was filthy. Whole family was disappointed in the whole experience. Provided feedback on FD's website ... other than an email noting receipt of feedback, no response in 2 weeks. UPDATE ... In addition to the above experience, I just reviewed my charge card bill last week and found that they added a second $75.15 erroneous charge in addition to our food bill. Called mgr this location and he credited me for the additional errant charge, but what a hassle ... lowered rating from 2 stars to 1 star.
UPDATE: Jeremy, manager talked to me today and was very friendly and helpful in making this right. I appreciate his efforts and hope this means better experiences in the future!Catering - do NOT use them for catering an event. They lost our order, so our food was an hour late to our event. The teenagers who were working did not seem too concerned about finding the order, which then had to be prepared from square one. The manager did not apologize or attempt to remedy the situation either. When we finally got back to the event with our food, we realized they did not provide us with the serving utensils, plates, and everything else promised as part of the catering order. When I emailed my complaint, I got an email back that said I would get a phone call within two days from a manager. No one ever called and they stopped responding to my emails after that.
Great service, first of all. Sabrina is a gem. My rib tips were on point. Fries, fresh and crispy. It’s very apparent in the quality of fried foods when a restaurant does a good job of cleaning and filtering fryers. Catfish fingers were dynamite. The menu is different now and paired down, but that’s to be expected after a couple years of Covid and restaurants having to do whatever possible to stay afloat. This place has retained its consistency through all the ups and downs and I appreciate that very much.
Really delicious food! We went during happy hour on a Thursday and there was no wait at all!The chopped pork was so tender, the burnt ends were perfectly cooked. We also tried the coleslaw, peach cobbler, sausage links and ribs. Everything was super flavorful and cooked just right.Servers were attentive and friendly too. Great dinner!
On 4/30/22, I ordered a Farmhouse Platter and a Feast for 2 online. I was supposed to pickup at 6:15pm. At almost 6, when I was leaving my house to pickup, I received a call stating they were out of chicken wings (the only meat on the Farmhouse Platter), and gave me a choice of more onion strings or cheese balls. Since this platter was for some kids, I needed some type of meat. I asked for something more equivalent to the chicken wings. She didn't have the authority to do that. The manager came on, she gave me brisket. I went to pickup curbside, after waiting 15 min, I went in to get it. After 10 more minutes, I finally got my food. When I got home, it was after 7pm, and I was shocked at the small portions in both platters. And for the missing wings, I received 2 small pieces of brisket. Poor customer service, poor quantity and quality of food for $62.
One Saturday night, a group of five and I visited Famous Dave’s, an outlet of a barbecue chain serving wood-smoked meats and sides in an American West, themed restaurant. The restaurant was busy that evening, but that was to be expected as it was a warm Saturday night and its’ relative location to South Point Mall. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed the cozy and comfortable atmosphere with the dim lighting, wooden walls, and the stone fireplace that was filling the back wall to make the restaurant feel homey. Inside the restaurant there were a variety of groups of people ranging from large groups to couples, toddlers and seniors. We were greeted by a friendly hostess with a smile, who politely led us to our circular table that was located near the wood-burning fireplace. After we sat down the hostess passed around the menus and told us that our waitress would be with us shortly. A few moments later the waitress emerged to our table and greeted us with her name and asked us what we would like to drink. As I can’t remember what type of drink products Famous Dave’s sells, I either ordered a Pepsi or a Coke. The waitress politely took our order and wrote it on her notepad and went off to go and prepare our drinks. While the waitress was gone we began to look inside the easy-to-read menu. Inside the menu Famous Dave’s has a range of foods ranging from salads to award-winning ribs. While it was difficult for me to choose what I was going to eat, I finally decided to order some buffalo wings with sides of grilled pineapple and Mac and Cheese. Each meal comes with a delicious, moist cornbread muffin. At the time, I had braces and eating wings was difficult for me to bite into. I decided that I would order boneless wings so I could still enjoy the taste of regular wings. Unfortunately, Famous Dave’s doesn’t have boneless wings on its menu. When the waitress came over to take our order I asked her if it was at all possible to make some boneless buffalo wings for me. Without hesitation, the waitress said that it was no problem for the cook to make them.About twenty minutes later, my food arrived in all of it’s glory. One at a time, the waitress handed us our platters and boy did it look delicious! All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The flavor of the buffalo wings was perfect; they weren’t too hot and had a taste that just melted in your mouth. Not to mention, Famous Dave’s makes the best cornbread muffins and mac and cheese. The waitress came by multiple times to check up on us, making sure we didn’t need refills on either drinks or sauces. I can’t tell you how many times the waitress filled up my drink. My time at Famous Dave’s was very well spent for a nice and relaxing meal with friends. I would recommend Famous Dave’s to all different ages and groups of people. When comparing the food, staff, and atmosphere, I would rate Famous Dave’s a five star restaurant.
Absolutely amazing! Food came out hot and cooked perfectly. Out waiter Zachary was great he was very attentive to us and our needs, great customer service!! All around great place!
One of my favorite places to eat, the food is always good. Love the atmosphere. Service was great.
Placed a takeout order just now but had to request a refund and leave the food sitting on the counter. I was in the waiting area for takeout and I observed the young lady that brought my food to me using her bare hands to add cornbread muffins to my plate. Yuck!! (With or without Covid, that’s disgusting).. sucks because I am really hungry and I had left a decent gratuity bc I believe in tipping for takeout service too. The manager (Jeremy) offered to remake my food, but this incident makes me question what else the staff does when nobody is looking. I had to respectfully decline. At the end of the day, my $30 doesn’t mean a lot to restaurant chains, but proper service means everything to me bc I’m a servant at heart. Dave’s is “famous” to me bc I won’t forget this experience. Do better people! Have some respect for your job and proper handling of food.
Used to love this place but it has changed. First we were seated at a booth with a wet floor sign blocking my way in to the seat, while we were there the puddle remained on the floor even though there were only a very few people in the restaurant at the time and the employees had plenty of time to stand around and talk. We ordered off of their very limited menu, the brisket was tough and fatty and the sides were barely there and for that we paid $44.00 for the two dinky little meals. Also the 8 oz. ice tea was $3.50 and we were never offered a refill. We will never go back there again.
