This was a nice little place to stop for a beer and sandwich on a Sunday afternoon when the downtime. The patio faces the street and also an outdoor plaza with a beautiful colorful artwork resembling a skinny totem pole. Area is rather quiet and empty. We sat outside in the beautiful sunny weather enjoying our order. Our waitress, Amur A., was very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with her awhile.
The food is to die for! My favorite sandwich is the T.A.C. and I would highly recommend it to everyone. I branched out last time and also got their portabella harvest grain soup through their convenient combo of half sandwich with a bread bowl of soup. The portions were still large and the price was very reasonable. The soup was delicious. The only way it could have been improved would have been if I consumed it in sweater weather, preferably with a book in the other hand. In addition to delicious food, the restaurant prides itself on being inclusive, which I really appreciate.
This is one of the best restaurants in Lincoln’s downtown area. The sandwich soup combo is unbeatable and I always have a good experience when I come here.
We walked in the restaurant and the staff weren’t obviously staring or commenting about my large service dog. It’s nice to not be the center of attention when walking in. It was seat yourself and we decided to enjoy lunch on the patio. It was spacious and it was great to be able to come and go directly from the patio without having to go back inside. The person assigned to our table gave us time to settle in before showing up with menus, which is nice when settling my dog in. I saw the staff do the same with parents who came in with young children so they could get the kids set up before having to juggle menus too. When she showed up with menus she was very professional, appeared happy to be working there and we were the center of her attention when she was there. She didn’t waste any time getting the generously sized drinks out and helped people at the table make decisions about their food choices. When she brought the food out she knew what went where and acted like there wasn’t even a service dog there. I can’t tell you how nice it is to be recognized as a person and not a person with a service dog. We had a variety of soups, salads and sandwiches at the table. Everything came out in baskets lined with paper. The first thing we noticed was how nice the food looked and everyone commented about how good it was. As the meal went on the wind picked up a bit when the food in the baskets was just about gone. I was pleasantly surprised to find the baskets weren’t the cheap plastic ones so many restaurants use. They had enough weight to them so we didn’t have to worry about baskets blowing over and dumping our food out. When we had finished she was right there to pick up baskets, offer more drinks and was happy to get someone a to go cup. She brought the check back and was aware of the wind and offered to take my card right then so we didn’t have to worry about keeping track of everything in the wind. It was a great experience and we always felt like we were the center of Mirabella P’s attention even though she was very busy. We will definitely find ourselves here again for drinks or food whenever we are in downtown Lincoln.
It's a little pricey for a sandwich (over $11) but it was a good sandwich. The best deal is probably a half sandwich and soup. It was a good place to go for an hour dinner break as we got in and out in time.
First time customer here, I tried the French dip and broccoli cheddar soup (daily special) they were amazing. The soup came in a bread bowl (I was unaware of this before it showed up) it was so good. Light and flaky bread not hard and chewy like most bread bowls. The French dip was thinly sliced and very tender and not overly seasoned or salty. The service was icing on the cake. Wendy was charming and attentive. Thank you for the wonderful lunch… I’ll be back
I have never left a review for any restaurant before but I was actually disappointed tonight. :( every time I’ve gotten food here it’s been soooo good! I always get the half BLT with vinegar chips and potato soup because it’s super yummy! Today, my sandwich was just thrown together with barely anything on it and the soup was barely higher than room temperature. I understand people have “off” days so I’m not upset. This place has always been good to eat at!
Great service. Food was awesome. Waitress was very friendly and prompt. Somehow I have never been there and I've lived in lincoln all my life. Gotta love Wisconsin cheese soup in a soft bread bowl. Prices were a little high but not outta range.
Loved the food! Was ready quick as well. Menu does state what the fan favorites are if you need help choosing. Meal comes with a bag of chips, your choosing of flavor. I ordered a strange drink and they were able to make it easy. Definitely recommend trying out
Excellent food great soup and sandwich deal! Amazing cream of potato soup, big drinks and friendly staff.
