I'm from Grand Island, all the steak places here are always full to capacity Fridays & Saturdays, because of that, I've stopped going out. The other day, I felt like having steak, so I started searching & found this place called Alley Rose. As I looked at pictures & reviews, it called my attention & decided to go try it. I ordered a 16-18 oz. Prime rib & it came with vegetables & 2 small potatoes. AMAZING flavor, PERFECTLY cooked & the service was EXCELLENT. Will definitely go back, will talk about it to friends & next time, I'm bringing my family.
This is our 2nd time here and it does not disappoint. The prime rib is THE BEST. Drinks are great, chocolate brownie with ice cream is delicious.
Surprisingly delicious. Salad bar was great. Rustical interieur, and cozy. Very friendly people working there. Highly recommend this place.
Excellent locally owned family restaurant and bar. Located in the local downtown area of Kearney, quite close to the railroad tracks. Patronized by locals including college students nearby. Relaxing atmosphere and very reasonable prices. Friendly service. Worth supporting a local institution. Excellent salad bar with many fresh choices. Beautiful stone fireplace in the bar area of the restaurant. Must provide a cosy atmosphere in the colder season.
Hit Alley Rose just in the nick of time for 1/2 price happy hour! The house margarita was delicious as was the not-so-fancy bloody Mary. The tuna tacos were delicious! The pork was not as good in my opinion. A bit too smokey flavor for my liking. The shrimp scampi was my sister-in-law's favorite food of our trip! Salad bar was good, fairly basic. The server was such a nice and patient young man for 4 women who couldn't make up their minds! Would definitely recommend!
Food was superb. I had the prime rib (again) and its pretty amazing. Came with bread for the table that was herb and cheese which was yummy too. The only negatives I have is they happened to be out of soup when I checked, and I had them make me a raspberry tea, which was very sweet. The desserts shined particularly well I had a tiered "chocolate torte" that tasted like pretty amazing black forest cherry cake. Mom had( we all tried it) blueberry lemon cheesecake thats was pretty solid. The crust outshone the cake to me as I expected the cheesecake itself to be powerfully lemon flavored and it was more like "streaked" with lemon so the cheesecake itself was just slightly underwhelming on its own. This is me being extremely critical however.
Never have I ever had better Mac & Cheese or a Mango margarita!!! Far exceeded expectations! Had a most fantastic dinner experience with a couple of my favorite people. What else could a person ask for?? I will be back, as often as I can when I'm in Kearney. We'll done!
Best lunch in town! Amazing salad bar! and the soup is always delicious!
Nice atmosphereVaried menu.. 4 of us had prime rib & shrimp scampiPleasant/efficient/knowledgeable employeesDown side…all of our food was lukewarm(aujus was was getting lumps of fat when it was served)Potatoes & carrots not even warmSpeaking with a neighboring table of locals(they said food temp was the only downfall)? This was our 2nd time trying Alley Rose ..same issue both times…Let’s try heated plates or tray covers
Staff is very friendly, hospitable, and courteous. Bella wears many hats from Host, to Busser, to a Wonderful Display of Good Ole Hospitality. The Food is Fantastic & Flavorful! Julie has been here over 30 Years and is a Great Conversation at the Bar once you're ready for Your end of dinner drink. Inside has Dark Wood, Dark Colors, Fireplace, which makes it Cozy & Very Inviting. I Definitely recommend the Alley Rose as it has been the Best Restaurant I've Enjoyed in all my Visits to Kearney, NE. A few Restaurateurs in the area could take a page out of their Book if you ask me.
