Will not eat here anymore. Customer service has gone downhill. I went here for my anniversary. Fajitas were cold they recooked them in grease which made me sick. Came back last week. They would not honor menu price lunch chalupa. I used to love eating here. The staff are rude, management is rude. And frankly the food is gross and not up to par.
I have been blessed with parents who seasoned their food to perfection. My father was once a chef. So trying food outside my kitchen is not always my option, but then we came across this place. The food is so good and tasty! If could give it 100 stars I would. The carnitas dish is delicious! I will always order my Mother’s Day dinner from La Mesa Restaurant! Thank you to the chef who made my food, it was delicioso!
Wow! Visiting from Michigan and everything was fantastic! Food, atmosphere, and drinks were AMAZING! Great job!
Excellent food and great service! Loved the atmosphere and the prices are reasonable! Worth going to.
This review is for the special 5 course tequila dinner event, not a regular dinner vist! When this promotion popped up I was skeptical because I am not a regular of La Mesa. The regular menu is just the same typical amercanized Mexican food that you find at most Mexican restaurants. But after last night, I just have to ask, why can't they let the chefs do more of this? They clearly have the skills. Add these type of dishes to the regualr menu! All the dishes were amazing.Mexican angel hair pasta soup, a shrimp ceviche-style cocktail, braised duck enchiladas mole, and braised lamb with heirloom potatoes. All were fantastic and sadly there is nothing comparable on their regular menu.Speaking with fellow event goers, I learned that La Mesa does this 2-3 times a year. I was surprised that in my 8 years in Omaha, this was the first I have heard of it.They even had a representative from the Cazadores distillery there to co-host. Telling us about each of the tequilas and answering any questions we had. We even enjoyed a tequila, the Cazodores Cristalino, which is not yet available for purchase in Nebraska.Next time this pops up, I highly recommend this to everyone. It was a fun time with great Mexican food and great tequila. You won't be disappointed.
Several of our party ordered beef chimichongas and got chicken and beef instead. It was ok but not as good as just beef. They should have told us if they didn't have enough beef! We could have ordered something else! Also we were there to celebrate our granddaughters birthdays with sombreros and fried icecream which they no longer do. The bill was over $150. Before tip. So we were dissappointed! ?
It was a quick minute decision that we get something to eat. And I'm glad we did.The food was very filling. I had a half quesadilla filled steak, chickenThis place has a good atmosphere and good vibes. The wait staff was nice and good about refills. I like the colorful everything there. The water fountain is a cute tOo. You can see how some people have tossed their change in water. Hoping some good luck. Some could argue that it's a tad pricey. But to each their own. It was a good experience across the board.Would Return!
I had a meal catered to our small school on behalf of the PTA - and even though it was super last minute, La Mesa was able to help out and seriously went above and beyond. We ordered nachos, tacos, and enchiladas and everyone was raving about how delicious the food was! The secretary said that the staff from La Mesa was super kind and polite, and did an amazing job. The food remained warm from 11am well into the early afternoon. I would definitely consider using them in the future for catering!PS... already my favorite spot for margaritas with my girls haha!
Best in town! Always great food, friendly service, authentic atmosphere! We've lived here 17 Yeats amd eat here regularly. We've never had a meal or service. Thank you for the consistent service!
We paid $22 for a pitcher of margaritas (celebrating our wedding anniversary) and it was nothing but margarita mix. Our waitress was so inattentive that my husband went up to the bar and for another $20 got two small shots of tequila to add to pitcher. Finally a drinkable margarita. We called in a to go order for my brother, because there was no way we were going to tip our waitress on that too. My husband decided to wait for our waitress to FINALLY come pick up our payment, while I went up to the bar to get a drink and wait for our to go order. They had no stools at the bar, so I stood and got a margarita, that they took straight out of the margarita machine.... Mix, no tequila.... Should have just ordered a shot of tequila. Just left the drink. Very disappointing anniversary dinner.
