I took my underage granddaughter there and we both loved it. Excellent wine, for me of course, great tapas and excellent service .
Utterly disappointing. The food was so-so (salmon and even chicken very overcooked). They proposed kid-friendly alternatives for our two kids (8 and 11), then charged full entree price for those simplified and reduced dishes. Even the best restaurants in NYC do not do this. $60 for two plates of chicken cutlet and rice? Please… The wine list is interesting - about the only positive thing I can say about this place.
The food and drinks were excellent, and Christina took great care of us. We were lucky to pick Plonk on our first visit to Missoula. Will be returning!
Loved the vibe and vegan options. Weather was nice so the front windows were open and we were able to sit both inside and outside :)
Have never been to Missoula but was mighty impressed with happenings downtown including a visit to Plonk! Fabulous dinner! They have a decent list of wines-by-the-glass and I enjoyed a Super Tuscan at a reasonable $12 price. My partner and I ordered two items, both really well done (and both happened to be vegetarian). The Ahi Tuna Ceviche was fresh, quite tasty, melt-in-your-mouth quality. Our Mushrooms and Focaccia was simply awesome! So flavorful, and a very nice portion as well. I can see why the locals are so excited by business development downtown. If Plonk is any example, there's a lot to look forward to.
We had one night in Missoula, and my wife chose Plonk. She is a genius. First, great wine selection. Selections in pretty much any price point, so the choice is yours. Second, service was outstanding. We sat at the bar and arrived during happy hour. At that point, there was one bartender handling the rush and she was outstanding. Personable, quick, good advice, pretty much everything one could want in a bartender. Later, a couple of others showed up and while the first one set a high bar, they all did themselves proud. Third, great food. We ate from the happy hour menu and it was all great. The cheese board was perhaps the best cheese board we have had. The pork buns were good enough that we ordered a second round. All I can say is one night in Missoula is well spent at Plonk.
Ordered a glass of wine and got a 3.5oz pour. Disappointed. Their cocktails may be great and their wine list yields some exciting options but if I am not getting what I paid for, whats the point?Edit: I appreciate the establishments response. I did try a cocktail after the wine and it was made excellently. The service I received was also great. I chalk the short pour up to a small error. I will be changing my rating.
Besides some really, really good wines (both from the US as from other wine regions), this place has an excellent chef! The appetizers and entrees are amazing! Lots of love and attention in the food, which is truly great! Great place to stop for in Missoula!
Dynamic cocktails: I last had a cilantro cucumber martini that was to die for! Nice, comfortable atmosphere with friendly staff. Wines from all over the world!
We were visiting Montana on vacation and walked by Plonk and it seemed right up our alley as we love a cozy wine bar with delicious menu. Our dinner was great, my salmon was cooked perfectly, and our server had good knowledge about gluten-free options and what could be substituted in certain cases. Attentive to making sure our water remained refilled as well (as a prior food server, these details matter, even though you may be drinking wine, or some other cocktail it’s a good server that still pays attention to your water). The wine and dessert was yummy. Only negative for us was how incredibly loud it was. We frequent many wine bars and you can have great ambiance with music, but this borderlined on feeling more like a club and not a wine bar with how loud the music was. Overall, a good experience though and we’d go back when in MT again.
