We were traveling through on our way the Grand Teton and found this jewel. Our waitress Kaydra was very friendly and the food was GREAT!!! We didn’t leave any food behind! We highly recommend this place if you are in the area.
What a great place! Came in on a Saturday late morning/early afternoon. Girl friend’s biscuits and gravy was awesome-my breakfast croissant was perfect. Most importantly, The guys running things (Ian and Lou) went over the top on being great to us. They’re just amazing people. This place was packed with only two servers working on the family side (they did a fantastic job). We had prompt service and good food. A definite go-to for home cooked meal and looks to be a local favorite.
My family and I have tried going to the Grub Stake multiple times over the years hoping it would get better. It’s gotten much worse. Hours of waiting for cold food that’s overpriced. Waiting staff was rude, which I can understand on a busy night, but we arrived at 5pm on a random Monday. We had six eating and two newborn babies. They charged us 18% gratuity because we had 8 people…. Two were infants. Save your money, go anywhere else.

I was in town on business and had the chance to have dinner with my son while I was there. The steaks were perfection and the portion sizes generous. My only complaint was I had nowhere to keep my leftovers, ha-ha.
The service was sub par even for Helena, and that is a low bar. Food is average pub food, no super star dishes. Recommend going to Applebee's and getting meh food with poor service, and saving the drive out to Grub Stake.
Ordered several meals from here lately ..food is high quality and prepared fast ! We especially enjoy there pizza!
We stopped in for dinner with friends. Unfortunately due to low staffing their pizza oven was closed so that took the pizza and some of the appetizers off the menu. Luckily there was plenty of other items to pick from. Their Rueben sandwich was delicious and the sweet potato tator tots were fabulous. The chicken fried steak was probably the best deal on their menu. There was plenty of seating available and we enjoyed the laidback atmosphere with no pressure to rush. Our server was friendly and gave us great service. We will definitely go back to try pizza and the breakfast. Menus look great with affordable prices.
Had the prime rib and fried mushrooms, and I heartily endorse both!Quality, attentive service and a comfy atmosphere. Good for family dining or an adult outing, and has separate sections for each.
