Fun little stroll around this store. Super pricey!!! Smaller than I thought it wld but but worth a quick browse
Excellent coffee, fantastic assortment of chocolate bars to enjoy or take home as surprises, fun adhesive stickers, cards, kids' toys, and lots of variety with friendly staff! Great place to enjoy your coffee.. and bonus small lofted area for kids to climb while supervised.
You might come in for the gifts or chocolate bar bar (trust me, that's not a typo) but don't sleep on their coffee. That Americano I had might have been one of the best ever!
Great place to get a coffee and shop for goodies and teas. More of a place to come and have a social experience or meet friends rather than have a quiet moment to yourself. Be aware they DO NOT allow laptop use in the shop. Not a complaint, I just would have liked to have known before I came. I respect that they are trying to preserve a certain culture but it is not something I am personally looking for. That is the reason for 4 stars.
Great staff that aims to please through coffee, tea, and interesting merchandise that you AND your children will love; you can spend 5 minutes getting a coffee to go, or a couple hours catching up with a friend while keeping kids entertained.
So much charm and character! Thought I walked into a scene from a Wes Anderson film. Was in Helena for a quick visit and came across General Merch from a local’s recommendation. Amazing coffee, tea, and chocolate selection. Ordered the Ray at the counter and took another to-go for the road. Thanks for making my first, albeit brief, visit to Montana memorable ??
Just not a friendly place. Very political.
Quaint shop, that's what earned it a star. However, lost four stars for just basically being a building trying to sell a political agenda. So much potential to be awesome, instead it kind of feels like you walk a tightrope in the shop. You just wonder if you don't say something right or look the part they will throw you out for disagreeing with them. It just doesn't feel very welcoming at all. If you lose the political agenda, it's a five star place. I just refuse to spend money here until that day.
Went with my daughter and her friend for coffee and hot chocolate. Didn't have salted carmel.so ordered Carmel latte and they didn't have Carmel. Then when I went to a table and opened my computer (10 minutes till close) I was asked to put it away. Then pointed to a sign that says to preserve table.space no laptop policy. What kind of coffee doesn't allow laptops???
Definitely the best place to shop in Helena Montana. THE place to bring someone from out of state/town to show them the best parts of the city. I only wish I was still young enough to climb into the watch tower. I mean seriously?? That's just cool! The store's theme is unusual items along with the secondary theme of "Standing up for what's right" All the pins and stickers they sell are empowering. It feels so homely. There's not many stores where you feel like you're on an adventure but this one definitely does!!
