I just had the most spectacular lunch from 1889!! I wasn't sure what to get and asked the gal what they liked on the menu, she had some great recommendations and I chose the Turkey Swiss sandwich and the Red Pepper soup- I didn't need to eat all of it, but it was so good I practically inhaled it! I normally get the breakfast burrito with sausage and spinach and those are super good too! And the Buffalo Chicken wrap... yum! They make a killer skim hot Matcha late too! I'd show a picture, but there's nothing left!
Stopped in really quick after an appointment in Helena. The staff here was super friendly and we had a great, short but sweet conversation. They asked how I was and genuinely cared, and on top of that, they got my food out fast! And, I asked for no cheese. My burrito arrived with zero cheese. It's pretty rare for a busy little shop like this to get that right on the first try. You know how it is, people get in a groove, most people love cheese, the kitchen has already made 30 thirty of this same burrito with cheese... That didn't happen here. They actually paid a good amount of attention and left the cheese off.Highly recommend if you're just passing through and you're a local that hasn't tried it yet, I highly recommend you stop in before work!
Wonderful coffee! We also had a delicious breakfast burrito and giant cinnamon roll. Fast service and extremely friendly staff. Even gave our dog a treat :) definitely will be back!
They never disappoint! The coffee always tastes perfect unlike other places where one day it's good and the next, it barely has flavor. Amazing coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and cinnamon rolls! Super friendly staff! Oh and to top it all off, the guy asked me if my dog wanted a treat, I said yes of course. I was expecting a milk bone but nope! He handed me a napkin full of ham!! Super awesome place! ?
Quality breakfast, good coffee. Comfortable seating with panoramic views of beautiful Helena.
Drink was good. Cinnamon roll was under cooked. The last 3 times I was here. This item was under cooked. I have had the Cinnamon roll before and it was awesome and cooked to perfection. I have been disappointed the last 3 times.
There have been few times in my life where my coffee was so bad, I had to throw it out. Usually that happens at home when I make a mistake like running the same grounds through twice in the coffee maker. Mornings happen, accidents happen, and that's ok, that can be forgiven. 1889 however, charged myself and my girlfriend for 2 of the worst cups of coffee in our lives. The two breakfast burritos we ordered were equally as bad and were thrown out half eaten. Food and coffee that bad does not deserve a second chance. I'd say avoid this place like the plague, but as it has become abundantly clear during the pandemic, that phrase has little or no meaning anymore. So, just avoid this place.
Great coffee shop with good soups and sandwiches. Better coffee, service, food, and atmosphere compared to Starbucks.Edit: The staff are generally great. Friendly and well trained. It seems like the owner also works the front pretty often and his leadership shows. Best coffee shop in town.
Good food and love that they do things for the veterans. They have an electric fireplace upstairs , the only downside is that there are alot of stairs so it's not easy for everyone to go up there. But it's nice and a good view if you do.
My new favorite place to get a boujie coffee drink. Unlike Starbucks, they actually have all the ingredients to make my white chocolate peppermint mocha ❤ plus they're a bit cheaper too but not on taste!
