I needed lunch and all the other restaurants seemed very big/lots of people. I saw the sign which said home cooking and went in. Everyone was friendly and attentive. They had really yummy sounding food, but I had a simple grilled cheese sandwich. The sandwich and fries were excellent. Had I been able to, I would have asked for a cinnamon roll to go. The price was more than reasonable. Definitely will stop by if I am able to.
I'm a Texan and our state takes pride in Chicken Fried Steak. The Western cafe is one of the best I have ever eaten and I'm 65 and the gravy too.
We were so happy to have found this place as we flew into Bozeman and wanted to have lunch before heading to Yellowstone. They were busy, but we had to wait only 10 minutes, well worth it! Our server, Emily, was friendly, helpful, just attentive enough, anticipated our needs, offered good suggestions and options. The selection was good, the portions great! We strolled down the street a little ways and found fun shops to wander before getting in the car for a long drive.
Visited on a Thursday morning before leaving for a day trip to Yellowstone.Coffee was good, service was ok.They were very busy. Orders came reasonably quickly. Had the veggie scramble and it was good.There are a lot of breakfast places in the area, so I think it boils down to individual taste and value.
We were looking for a good breakfast and we found it. We had a short wait to be seated but it’s worth the wait. The waitress was very friendly and could tell we were from the South, lol. The side of bacon was huge and some of the best we ever ate. No complaints on anything we ordered.
The food is absolutely great at this local restaurant. Make sure to order the "Best in the West." It is a must-have on the menu!
We googled breakfast places and Western Cafe had high remarks. Go where it is crowded with locals and it’s bound to be good.
We ate here for 2 days in a row for early breakfasts on a 3-day stay while camping nearby. Ladies are fun and waitstaff are genuine but courteous! Your serving sizes are LARGE. A great way to start off your day, especially if a physically active day is in store, to burn off calories. They seat pretty quickly, even though there's always a line of 3-4 people waiting when we typically arrived, it seems. Everything on menu is great as my husband likes hearty breakfasts. I am not a big breakfast eater (more on lighter side) but on trips and vacations, this is the type of meal and place to go that makes you feel good to start off your day.
Great breakfast. Huge plates of breakfast goodness. The omelet had so much Chrissy bacon in it so so good. The pancakes cooked perfect and the flavor was really good. Plenty of coffee. great service and really good food
Has the look and feel as if it has been there forever. It has. But clean, great menu, great food, exceptional service. Once we found it, it was out "go-to" for breakfast.
