This is the first time my family and I have ever tried this Montana based chain restaurant. My wife and I had the pepper steak sandwich, which was really good! My daughter had the Italian sub, she didn't like it at all, I had a couple of bites, I thought it was average. The pickles that they give on the side are really fantastic...I'm assuming they are house made?!?! The service was fair, the kid taking our order was kind of frowny faced, but he wasn't rude or anything. Our food order came out pretty quick.
Just recently got 2 subs from pickle barrel ... Same bun , higher price , half the ingredients ! ... Sorry pickle barrel , you lost a faithful customer of 44 yrs. Got my first sandwich in 1978 ... Awesome ! We traded pizzas for sandwiches with the crew when I worked at Karl Marks pizza .Jersey Mike's for me all the way for me from now on baby !!!
Long time awesome Bozeman sandwich shop.Fast and friendly service. Minimal wait. The parking situation sucks. The mushroom cheese steak sub is soo good!!!Great bread too!!I hadn't had one in a few years, since moving from Bozeman, but to enjoy one the other day was excellent! Same delicious consistency since at least the year 2000 that I'm aware of...Didn't try it but you can apparently now get a sandwich inside a pickle if you don't want bread!
To be completely honest, we stopped here solely because of the name (come on, its fun). Its a tiny place that is a tad difficult to see, but who cares. All of the employees were very friendly. The sandwiches were made very quickly. We each got a half sandwich and it was more than enough. Awesome sandwiches! If I lived locally this place would easily be my go to place to get food. No question about it. Highly recommend.
Loved the cheesesteak. Old sandwich shop vibe. Parking can be tough.
First time coming here and I have to say I will never be back. Yes the food was fresh! They made it right in front of me. But it tasted awful! We ordered 3 different kinds of hot subs and they were all awful.
Maybe at one time, or as the counter and cooking staff rotate as with all restaurants, this was a good place to eat. No longer. First of all, we stopped in January and there is no seating. Yes they have a couple of outdoor tables with ineffective heaters (heat rises, element is above your head, duh), but they are a horrible mess and hardly fit for eating with the junk and snow, ice and melting at your feet. Stacks of who knows what piled up around the "scenic" eating. But it might be acceptable if the food was worth it, or worth taking to a nicer location. Not so. I had two sandwiches and my wife one, and none was as good as any of the chain sub shops. Given the name, they offer large dill pickles with your order, unique but hardly worth the rest of the experience.
Love their sandwiches! Huge portions; a half sandwich will last 2 meals for me. I prefer the cold subs... If we order a warm sub to take home, it is soggy to the point we have to use a fork ☹ Highly recommend this place though!
Very tasty!Tied with biankinis for best sandwiches in the world.
Delicious sandwiches with fantastic service. Don't shy away from getting your sandwich in a pickle. It was so good! Maybe not as filling as the regular sandwiches but definitely worth it. Sandwich selection has good variety. I wish they did not charge an extra amount for adding additional toppings.
