My husband and I came here for dinner on a Wednesday night and it was packed! Everything was delicious from the wine (good natural wine selection) to the food. Everything is super fresh and leverages seasonal ingredients. Salads were a breath of fresh air with nice flavors and fresh ingredients after a lot of uninspired, overdressed salads at other spots during our trip.
Fantastic menu. It is a little expensive but treat yourself! The flavors and ingredients are top notch. We had sourdough bread, ravioli, lamb kebabs, fried polenta, and rhubarb crisp. Happy with everything. Lamb portion was a little small, but everything tasted phenomenal and unique. Service, decor, ambiance, all a great experience. This will be a top recommendation for others visiting Bozeman.
Made reservations for four at 7 PM by 8:30 pm we still hadn’t been seated. Walked away with a very bad impression.
Excellent food and ambience. We sat at the bar and loved seeing the chef and crew in action. We had the sourdough toast, seasonal salad (apple and hazelnut), gnocchi and trout tacos. I appreciated the menu was both condensed and had variety. They nailed all of it. Nice and informed staff. Highly recommend.
Food here is excellent and the price is reasonable for how good it was. The vibe is relaxed and a bit upscale. We sat at the bar which was actually great! Cool to see all the dishes get made, they all looked incredible
Have been to Little Star many times for brunches and dinners and never had bad food. Brunches are delightful with number of options. Dinners are great too with some vegan and gluten free options as well. Deducting one star as the main dining area has bad acoustics and can get really loud during peak hours - you can not have a conversation unless you speak really loud - our waitress also messed up our order last time (I think she didn't hear it properly and made assumptions).
Everything we had here was delicious! Initially we sat at the bar and one of the cooks/chef's gave us recommendations and they were all great. The restaurant is smaller and more intimate. We'll definitely be coming back next time we're in Bozeman.
After the experience we had, I couldn't not write a review. Totally not what I expected. Classy, laid back, gourmet. Really awesome. From the solid wood tables and chairs and the live edge counter overlooking the kitchen, to the quiet symphony performed by the chefs, and, of course, the outstanding food ... a wonderful experience all around. I will definitely be back if I'm ever in Bozeman again. P.S. if you go, sit at the counter so you can "watch the show."P.P.S. it didn't occur to me until after we left ... the fried carrot salad is fried in oil that's also used for their beignets... celiac's beware.
One of the best meals I've had in Bozeman (and I've lived here for 10+ years). The gnocchi was amazing - buttery and rich but still light. The hazelnut cake was also a winner - not too sweet and the addition of the ice cream was perfect.
Little Star has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Bozeman, whether it's for dinner with girlfriends or date night. For having a relatively small menu, there are always several items that jump out. I have experienced consistently high quality, creative and delicious food, and great service.
