Firstly, I’m giving Cafe Fresco 2 stars because the server deserves some credit at least! The overall service she provided was good, but there were multiple other reasons for only 2 stars.1. We requested a table outside while entertaining friends from out of town. We were unable to be seated outside due to potential weather issues.2. Once seated inside, we saw people being seated outside within 10 mn. The inside restaurant was actually hot as a customer nearest the garage style window did not want the door open. There is no a/c and it really was too hot inside. Eventually (and not soon enough!) that door was opened.3. I have felt in past experiences here, that entree portions were lackluster - not enough flavor, toast-like bruschetta, not much flavor in the shrimp scampi and certainly not enough shrimp (5 non-large) for a $35 dollar entree, but wanted to give them another shot because of the outdoor eating option we didn’t get. Also wanted to see if any improvements could’ve been made. Sadly, that was not the case.I called management to let them know of our experience before posting a review. We were offered compensation for my shrimp scampi since it was “supposed to have six shrimp on it,” which is still chincy if you ask me. It was also not enough enticement to cause me to try to drop another over $350 dollar dinner there. I wish we could give Cafe Fresco a better review. I so wanted it to wow me this time.
Amazing establishment. Top Notch if you live in or are visiting Bozeman. Their menu is top tier and great atmosphere without the stuffy vibe. They are very inviting and extremely knowledgeable about the menu and what they have to offer. Pasta and appetizer menu are unmatched in Bozeman and their wine list is perfect. Catch them for the best Happy Hour in town and sit in the cozy dining room or by the creek on their patio in summer. Something for everyone and a must if passing through, it's the first place I take anyone that is visiting when they want to go to dinner. I'm not usually a dessert person but their Affogato and Tiramisu are off the charts. 7 out of 5 stars to their staff and I've been going there for years now so they must be doing something right.
Went to Bozeman on a work trip and wanted to treat myself in Mother’s Day since I was away from my kids. Found this yummy Italian spot and for a seat at the bar. Caroline took great care of me. The meat balls were fantastic. I also had the ravioli and a great red blend to compliment dinner. A great dining experience if you are in town and a cozy atmosphere.
Ordered the Carbonara with seafood. Firstly it was NOT Carbonara! It was bacon grease with an emulsified egg in it. It was nasty! And the piece of cod on it was 1 1/2 inch square. Really? Apparently it used to be good. Not anymore. And one of our group who never complains about food complained to our server who said “this is our carbonara”. Don’t go there!
Fresco is my favorite place for lunch in the summer and of my favorite places for dinner. The goddess chop (I love it with salmon) is reliably delicious and I crave it if I go without it too long! Wines are terrific. The new room and patio they are building will only make it that much more wonderful!
Best Italian in Bozeman hands down. Decided to eat at the bar and Dexter was a great and knowledgeable bartender. The special never fails to blow my mind. Seafood Alfredo had some of the best Cod I’ve ever had. I want to come back once a week till I die.
Absolutely delicious!!! You literally can’t go wrong with any entree here, my 2 favorites are the crème fraiche salmon and the lasagna.
Fabulous experience and Eaton was very professional and attentive. Great attention to detail. We had a wonderful evening and suggested our friends stop in on their overnight in Bozeman.
Always one of our favorite spots for date night or for taking friends from out of town to dinner. The service is always top notch, especially our server, Dexter, from our most recent visit. Chicken parm is tasty.
Under normal circumstances I would give the food a solid Bozeman 4.5 -- however there have been several incidents related to the overall dining experience that have forced me to deduct a star. One such incident was, the waitress charged a bottle of wine to our bill rather than a glass. Another time, I ordered a chicken parmigiana and substituted the default pasta w/ a penne w/ butter and the chicken parm came out with no sauce on the entrée at all. Two months ago, there was a large party in the restaurant that was extremely loud and raucous that I couldn't hear the person sitting directly across from me - to be fair, the hostess warned us about a noisy party that was anticipated to leave soon but the noise persisted throughout our entire time there. Most recently, my partner of three years and soon to be fiancée ordered me takeout for my 26th birthday because we are in a long distance relationship. This was the only gift I received for my birthday and the chicken parm (yes I like the chicken parm) had a 3 inch long reddish brown thin hair in the dish. It may have only looked red because of the sauce - which this time was included in the entrée because my partner forgot that I like to order my chicken parms w/ a side of penne with butter.
