Excellent food! Current prices as of Summer 2022: starting at $8.75 for small bowl and $12.75 for large bowl.Parking: in the back alley, or on the back corner of the one way street.Customer service could have been better for our first time coming, but nothing a little training can’t fix. Definitely recommend if you like rice bowls!

The audacity of this establishment to go back on a previous statement upon our group entering the restaurant is inconceivable. We had called ahead IN ADVANCE to confirm that a group of our size would be able to feasibly dine, ensuring that the restaurant would both be open and capable of serving us. Upon our arrival, we were violently ushered out of the building and told by a young man that they were “closed,” despite seeing others actively eating and drinking while seated at their tables. Disgustingly poor service— if you can even call that limited interaction “service.” To top it all off, the gent, who was rapidly cleaning the table, began to laugh with his coworkers, presumably to indicate his joy of being able to refuse us service. This man should be ashamed, alongside the 5onBlack institution as whole. Would give 0 stars but unfortunately not possible… DON’T BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE OR THEY WILL EXILE YOU!! RUN WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!

I ordered this bowl and I was really excited to try a new cuisine style. I was expecting them to be pretty good and I have to say the food was alright. Maybe a bit spicy for general taste, but alright. This was the only meal I had for the day and in less than an hour after the meal I got sick and then it came diarrhea. I don’t have any food allergy. And I don’t eat fast. Something in the food was bad. With such mixed ingredients, it is difficult to taste anything bad. Probably they need better quality check or better hygiene.

As a downtown employee I eat here fairly regularly, probably two or three times a week if you can believe it! Yes, they are dealing with the same staffing issues that everywhere in Bozeman is so give them some leniency there - the people are kind and helpful, and the food is just delicious. It's hard to find fresh greens this time of year and five on black always delivers. And who can forget the cheese buns? Yumma yumma.

My first experience was so good I had to came back the very next day! Today I got the large beef and greens bowl with a few extras, AMAZING! Staff is super friendly as well!

A wonderful place to get real food! It's spicy, delicious, fresh, and so flavorful. Build your own bowl is the way to go. One of the best joints in Bozeman!

The place is definitely a 5 star!!! The food was delicious. I’m from out of state and so disappointed this place isn’t available where I live. The guys that helped with the order were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

I have actually lived in Brazil as an Exchange Student. I returned 4 years later with the US Navy. I have had feijoada many *multiple* times. Though the food was decent, this was not true feijoada. It's like they picked a stylized recipe on line. The customer service was excellent and prompt. But I'm sorry, feijoada does not have tomatoes in it!

Typically love 5onblack but quality is tanking w/ staff shortage being the excuse. Was rushed through the line yesterday so the shop could close early only to receive two bowls subpar bowls (one extremely bitter idk why and the other waaaaaaay over salted). Guessing the shortage had the cooks rushing to make the food so no measurements of ingredients. Oh and I’m stomach sick today and the only things I ate yesterday was the overly salted bowl and some fruit.I give 3 stars bc I have had good experiences here in the past and am willing to try again after they hopefully solve their staff issues. But yesterday’s experience was for sure 0 stars.
