Friendly service, very good food. We all loved our burgers. It just took so long to get our order to the table. Lunch turned into dinner. But great burger.
HAUNTED BAR ? no really, it is. Read the plaque outside the 120+ year old building this restaurant is in and you’ll understand why…I worked here 8 years ago and had multiple paranormal experiences. Came in one day in 2022 for food and casually asked the waitress about it and they said they’ve had experiences too; they all said yes. One of the experiences I had was a flying glass, DURING DINNER RUSH! Everyone in the back half of the restaurant by the bar saw it. If you’re lucky maybe you will see something here too!Even if ghosts aren’t your thing, or you aren’t a believer yet, they have some fantastic and unique burgers all at very reasonable prices. Chili and soups are really good too. I always end up cleaning the whole bowl. You won’t find another burger place like this in the valley!The place is usually pretty packed, so you might want to call to make reservations or just see if seating is available. ?
My wife and I went here looking for a feed of Montana bison or beef. We arrived around 5 pm on a Thursday, which we thought would beat the rush, but it was nearly full already. We both had bison burgers which were really great. However they took about 40 minutes to arrive. Our server was attentive and checked in with us a couple times. He finally said our food was delayed due to a large number of food service delivery orders, and they suspended those orders for the rest of the night to focus on the in-house customers. Too bad they did it too late for us.
Such incredible burgers! We ordered the kimchi burger and it blew my mind! Don’t skip the curry fries, which after eating my dad said “I can now say I’ve lived!” Also delicious French onion soup. I would go again in a heartbeat!
We kicked off our Montana vacation with lunch at Backcountry. After reading the reviews, we agree. Backcountry has tasty burgers and fries with excellent service and a nice selection of local beers. Bozeman has several excellent restaurants to choose from, but don't miss this gem if you are craving a delicious lunch!
Go for the Curry Fries and burgers! Oh, my gosh! So good! They also have an impressive selection of local brews. Don't know which to get? The friendly staff is happy to help. In fact they're happy about everything! Super nice people combined with really tasty food makes it a must go to place in Bozeman!
Paid $18 for this double patty Bison Burger. Wasn't worth the price or the 25min. Carryout wait!! Was expecting Backcountry flavors like smoke and campfire and got a Burger with no outstanding taste or memorable flavors!! It was as plain n sad as the rest of the menu!!! I felt robbed. A deceiving name for tasteless burgers. For the bland palates for sure!!!
Everything looked great but I’m still craving more of this cream cheese jalapeño jelly bacon burger.
Alright service, great food. The backcountry burger was really tasty. The backcountry sauce is delicious. Reviews don’t lie, the cheese curds were fantastic! Fries are a must, onion rings aren’t your typically onion rings. If in Bozeman, come here!
Great food, really unique burger combinations. Only reason I don’t give 5 stars is that for how much a burger costs— there should be fries included. It’s $3 extra for fries ON TOP of a $10-12 burger, and the burgers are no bigger than a Wendy’s Burger (though much tastier).Totally a Montana restaurant. Gotta visit, and a great place to take people visiting Bozeman.
