Service wasn’t great never got are drinks food was ok but definitely not the best sushi in town
The food is good and probably deserves a 4.5. We went at happy hour and there were very few people there, but it wasn't until halfway through the meal that our drinks came. Then they have a buy two get one roll free during happy hour and we got 3 nice rolls and 3 simple rolls. When the bill came we were surprised that rather than discounting the cheapest of each category they just discounted the two cheapest rolls. When we asked about there was no show of customer service at all. The food doesn't make up for the service, I would expect less if their prices were less expensive but I probably won't be going back.
We had dinner here on 5/13. The restaurant had a lot of staff on the floor but they were mostly standing around chatting with each other. The service we received was mediocre. Also, we sat close to the bar and the bartender made several unsanitary actions (scoop ice with glass). Overall, the service was pretty unsatisfactory, the food was good (sushi slightly unflavorful) and prices high for how little service there was.
impressive atmosphere. fab food. definitely will go again. highly recommended. many other choices we want to try
This place was recommended to me by a local so I had to check it out. The place does do reservations or walk ins. When I said table for one I got stuck on a small table that was really too small to comfortably hold all of my plates, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that this wasn't a deliberate slight. At the commendation of the same local I got the edamame side which was far larger than I felt a one person portion of a side (see attached picture). That said, they were delicious. The best I've ever had. Speaking of food, this restaurant does not serve anything from the lunch menu on the weekends. I did not know this, and I was not prepared for A) having to pay more for dinner portions and B) the increase portion size.I settled on the hibachi chicken (see pictures), and here comes my next ding against them. I cannot have shrimp, it isn't kosher, and when I asked the server if I could make a substitution he seemed so wrongfooted you'd think I'd asked him for his phone number. Every other place I've ever been and asked to substitute out something because I cannot eat one of the ingredients the server has always said along the lines of "of course sir, what would you like" or "How about we do ___ instead?". The kind of "yes, and" reaction I was looking for simply wasn't there. On the subject of my main course the salad that came with it did not show up until I asked for it which means someone in the kitchen dropped the ball. It was also abysmally small. I'm not asking for a full entre sized salad, but this was the steepest side salad bowl I've ever seen. It could not have been larger in volume than two cupped hands. It was so small that when I pushed my fork into the salad the lettuce started to overflow out of the bowl. The house dressing was good though. The parking situation is also abysmal. Probably the worst ding against this restaurant. It abuts directly up against a city street so the only parking I found where a handful (less than a half dozen) of parallel parking spots on the street, and those have to be shared with the business next to it. I'm sorry, but if you're going to be a big fancy restaurant and take reservations you need somewhere for your reservees to park. If they do have a parking lot then it wasn't signposted. "Parking around back ->" or something like that.Scores:Bathrooms - 4/5 no complaintsFood quality - 5/5 the food I was served was excellentFood Presentation - 4/5 the bowl I got my side salad in was way too small for its contentsSeating - 4/5 It would be a 5 because I was seated almost immediately but I was seated at a table far too small for the size of the plates I was given. I was actively having to shuffle my plates around like a slide puzzle. They weren't *that* busy that they couldn't have put me in a bigger table with actual elbow room.Parking - 1/5 I cannot stress how inadequate this level of parking is for the size of the restaurant. There is far more seating than there is space to park vehicles to fill those seats.I ended up parking down the street in the parking lot of a hotel.Overall score: 3.5/5 the food was tasty and the atmosphere was great, but they lose a point for the bad parking and half a point for putting me in a table too small for my plates.
We went out to celebrate my birthday last night at wild ginger, and couldn't be happier with our decision to go. We had Francisco as a server, and he went above and beyond for us last night. He was funny, friendly, very helpful with any questions we had. We had a bit of a mishap with one of our dishes, and he immediately made it right. He was so so great. The food was PHENOMENAL! We had the steamed clams, which I could probably just eat those everyday. So good! We also had the oysters which I also loved. The we all just did different hibachi. The four of us aren't very big drinkers, and my friend is pregnant, but of course it's my birthday, so we wanted a few drinks. Francisco recommended great drinks to all of us, and included my pregnant friend in the fun with tasty nonalcoholic drinks. and whoever made them, did a fantastic job! Then we finished the meal with a surprise birthday dessert of fried ice cream, which was just as great as the rest of the meal.Great job wild ginger, we will 1000% be back. ☺️
Phenomenal! Excellent culinary art! Delicious, friendly and great atmosphere!
Just had some fried rice and for $18 it was not worth it. The shrimp and beef was really salty and overall just a really bad dish. I'm staying away.
Great Japanese steak house menu. Sushi is amazing! Relaxing ambiance with a live jazz band that isn't so loud to it allow for table talk. Really wish they would get there hibachi gross back up and running. Otherwise a great experience for a date night or for the whole family.
After seeing multiple great reviews about the gluten free options, we ate lunch there today. The food did have a pleasant flavour, a tad mild for Thai, but edible.I have celiac disease, so gluten free isn’t a life style choice but a necessity for pain free eating experience.I am now in pain from my food. I do not recommend this place for Celiac people.
