This place was recommended by the hotel I was staying at. Was expecting a more authentic or at least upscale steakhouse, especially since their feature special was a $70 steak with one side. Nope they had vinyl tablecloths covered in kids craft paper which the waitress wrote on with crayon.... yup. I got a simple salad and entree total was under $30 and a drink. My salad came before the drink. Salad was basic, limp, rotten in places, and had lots of iceberg rind chunks (pictured what I didn't eat). So not impressed. The soda was flat. The entree was ok but small with very little chicken, was mostly breading. If the waitress hadn't been so nice this would have been a one star review, so this place is lucky to have her!
I last reviewed this place 8 years ago, and I guess I forgot why we hadn't been there in so long. My salad was drowned in some bitter Huckleberry Viniagrette, so I left it. My fish and chips was battered in a heavy greasy batter over thin, unremarkable pieces of fish. This was on a bed of fries, many of them scrappy, like they couldn't be bothered to start a fresh batch. This time, I WON'T BE BACK.
Very disappointed in the quality and finish of our meal. The Ceasar salad was flavorless. It started with receiving someone elses well done rib-eye, I ordered middle rare. After eating a few bites and waiting for our server to come back around, I was asked how my steak was and shared that it was over done. "Yeah I just realized you got the wrong steak". Mine came to me relatively quick and cooked properly, but very bland for a $45 steak with no nice marbling or flavor. My kids had the baseball top sirloin steak, which is stated to be a favorite, was like eating a glove all tho it was cooked properly it was tough and chewy. Wife's haddock was equally boring. Without insulting, either the positive reviews have no taste buds or we got a terrible meal. Dessert was good tho, not sure if that's because it's store bought or homemade tho.
tonight 5-20-22 we were seated in the bar area (I am a Royalty member and a long time customer) when a customer was seated wit a large dog next to us. I asked politely if the dog was a service animal and was told that no the dog was not a “service animal” but that the host told them that dogs are welcome inside the restaurant. contrary to Montana law. I complained to the manager at the desk and was told they would look into it (not very politely) Sorry, I do not want to eat indoors at a restaurant with dogs and all that goes with them, with the exception of legitimate service animals
Overall, dining here was a pleasant experience. Both steak entres were excellently prepared to our tastes... very tender and flavorful. Salads were crispy with tasty Ceasar and blue cheese dressings. I didn't care for the shrimp bisque soup which came with crackers instead of hot bread and butter. I guess I expected bread and butter to be served with such an expensive meal.
Table for one, no eye contact for 10 minutes, until a manager asked if I'd been helped yet, I said I hadn't, and she returned in acouple minutes with a waitress that said she'd be with me in a couple minutes! Took over a hour to receive my meal(which was delicious but simple, country fried steak) but the lack of service soured the experience. For the price I'll try a new place next time around .
Food was good. They were super busy on a Sunday evening but we we able to be seated right away by eating in the bar . Nice atmosphere in the bar.
Steak was awsome shrimp was great a little spicy but over all pretty great mashed potaoes had way to much milk in them all I could taste was milk. Salad was good. Forgot my friends water and I ordered onions on my steak never recieved the onions. If it wasn't for the things they forgot I'd give a 5 star.
The Rib & Chop House was busy as usual but we were seated right away. Our server was just the most pleasant young man, very knowledgeable about the drinks and dishes. He was patient with us old people and kept our drinks flowing and the water glasses full. The food was fabulous, again as usual. Have always been pleased with the service and food here. Will continue to patronize this restaurant as much as possible.
Great atmosphere, good service and the food was phenomenal!! We had a group of 5 for a birthday dinner and the place was PACKED!!! Kudos to all the staff!!
