First time here. Park on street. Awesome Mexican food. One in our party ordered for all of us in Spanish, but the staff easily spoke English to other folks eating here. All our lunches were excellent and exactly as we had ordered. Lots of vegetarian options, too. Whatever you like, they can make it, but be sure to have the cactus leaves on your plate. Mmmm. Would return for sure.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For the staff and wonderfully warm inviting atmosphere!! I fell in love with the charming casa style feel in downtown Billings. What used to be part of the bowling alley is now a bubbling medley of charm and delight.⭐️⭐️For the lunch today. I had the enchilada special and there wasn’t much that was special about it. It was rather cold and bland. I don’t think that I have ever eaten a chicken enchilada with potatoes in it. Even in all my travels to Mexico. The rice and beans were also flavorless. My friend’s dish was also on the bland side. Although disappointed this time, maybe we’ll try again, that is, if we get offered free tequila shots…? ??

Came here after seeing such positive reviews, to say the least I am very let down. Walking in was a good vibe, real authentic feel so I especially had high hopes. Let me start by saying I love tacos, it's my favorite food. I love all kinds of tacos, white people tacos, street tacos, authentic mexican tacos. but these tacos were borderline terrible. The carne asada was essentially dried out, boiled or something, not seared, roast beef rubber texture. No flavor except like a hint of freezer burnt, and very dry. Not even diced up and seared like normal carne asada is. Instead, strips. I tried 3 kinds of tacos. Here is how I would rate them. Tinga (pork taco) Was a 3/5. Meat was decent, there was a yummy sauce on it. But the hot sauce, was unbearable. (coming from someone with a very high heat tolerance) im thinking by my enthused yes when asked if i want cilantro, onion, and hot salsa she may have taken it for extra hot salsa? Or maybe they have upped their spice level according to prior reviews saying it was bland. Regardless, the spice level was insane and I genuinely cant imagine anyone being able to handle it. The water offered was gross tasting and definitely tap, so it was hard to wash the heat down haha. Carne asada taco was 0/5. Chicken and potato was 2/5 (had some weird tomato paste flavor) All tacos were almost inedible due to the overly hot salsa that had no real flavor other than H O T. I didnt feel the flavors complimented eachother, and the carne asada was 100% not fresh. & No lime!? :( I am so sad to be leaving this review as I heard nothing but good things. As someone that ventures out and tries tacos everywhere, the best we have in billings is los mayas! Head there for some carne asada tacos, you won't be disappointed!Unfortunately I was also charged incorrectly as well. I overpaid but i just looked at it as a donation. The lady working was very very sweet and provided excellent customer service, because of her I considered not even leaving a review. She added a star making my review 2 stars / 5 We wish you nothing but success on your business, which I'm sure you will continue getting as I know many people that love La Tinga! This was just our experience.

Ate here with my family on Cinco de Mayo and it was the best Mexican food I've had since being in Mexico when I was in the military. The owners are nice as well as being funny. 10/10. If you like authentic Mexican this is definitely the place in Billings to be.

Stopped at La Tinga for lunch during a Vancouver to Ottawa road trip and it hit the spot perfectly! Ordered online and was ready when we arrived. Burritos were fab! Definitely worth taking a few minutes off the highway and eating at La Tinga!

Best Mexican food I've ever had in Billings!

The service was prompt and friendly. The food arrived quick and was great. Will definitely be back on our next trip to Billings.

Breakfast this morning at La Tinga was a step back into Grandma's kitchen where you were warmly greeted and made to feel welcome. Cinnamon flavored dark rich coffee, authentic huevos rancheros while snow fell outside. A beautiful April morning in Billings!

Food was fresh and delicious, the service was excellent. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food in a casual environment, La Tinga is the place! I had the juevos ranchero’s for lunch and it was off the chart. I can’t wait to go back and try everything on the menu!!!

I am dumbfounded as to how this place has such a high rating. Food is all pre-cooked and sitting in metal bins. It is quite literally like eating cafeteria food. It’s cheap, but the quality of the food is even cheaper. “Carne asada” tacos described grilled steak. It was like eating leftover pot roast. Meat did not even appear to be seasoned and had no Mexican spice or flavor whatsoever. Phenomenal disappointment after reading the reviews. Do not be fooled by the comments here. The hot salsa was not hot, it was bland. Rice was tasteless. I will agree that the people are very friendly, but I wouldn’t return to eat here for free.
