Korean food was very disappointing.I gave 2 stars because I haven't tried their Japanese menu.We got the korean combo, meat was extremely tough and not marinated enough, at all. There was no taste to the meat.But the staff was nice and I'm sure their Japanese meals are great.
I order from here aprox 2x a week. Their food is excellent! Great costumer service! Recommend this sushi restaurant 5+
I have mixed feelings about Fancy Sushi. This last visit I ordered a spider roll which did not list teriyaki sauce as an ingredient and I did not expect it because that is not the norm for a spider roll. It came drenched in the stuff. The roll consisted of 6 skinny slices of which I ate 2 after wiping as much sauce off as possible and my dining companion ate 1. Could not finish the rest, (which I never do because I love sushi). Our waiter did not ask at any point how our meal was but I decided to tell him politely about the problem to which he seemed unfazed. For an 11 dollar roll that was tiny and also soaked in strong sauce I thought perhaps it would be comped or at the very least discounted, but was not. Also my dining companions roll supposedly had filet mignon, but he reported it was extremely chewy. We did not mention this detail to the waiter because he didnt ask and didnt want to seem like winey jerks but we left feeling a little jipped and disappointed. Wish I could say better things about Fancy Sushi, they do seem to try at least to be polite most of the time but their food falls short and so does their ability/desire to remedy dissatisfied patrons which makes it difficult to want to return.
Very good asian food and sushi. Dine in and takeout, we dined in. Sister and I tried many things over 5 dinners and all were great. Became our go to DC dinner place in Billings during two different stays here. She's from Cincinatti, I'm from DC. Dinner boxes are a good deal for $20. Sushi not cheap but quality great. Great customer service. Friendly people. They go the extra mile dine in and takeout. Will go back when in Billings. Great hot and sour soup.
Yesterday I went to restaurant and discovered they were take out only. They are the only Japanese restaurant with hibachi I know of doing strictly take out. Well, the order was a complete disaster. The hibachi steak and shrimp was placed in a small takeout bowl mainly containing broccoli. The meat looked like processed meat and each piece was perfectly cut no higher then 0.5 cm x 1 inches wide by 1-2 inches long. There was roughly 8-10 pieces of this thinly cut steak. There were 6 shrimp, but again 2/3 of the bowl was filled with broccoli. The vegetables tempura was soggy and the chicken was not great. Keep in mind these were suppose to be meals not appetizer which is what I felt we ordered. I have eaten in the restaurant several times over 3-4 years and have been impressed with the quality and amount of food prior to this event. Jimmy said he would comp the next meal but had no interest in taking my name so I have no clue if he will honor it. Honestly I am hesitant about going back. If I do and remember I will take pictures. There is no reason to lower standards because of the pandemic. Most people aren’t going to take their food back.
Some sushi was just ok, had to take back 3 rolls of puréed 2 salmon & 1 tuna very dry! Rice was undercooked and crunchy, rolls fell apart. They did after arguing replace them with different rolls. Overall disappointed. Won’t go back.
This place is hands down the best place to get sushi!! Not only is the food amazing, but the people that run the place and work here are the best!! They gave my baby nephew complimentary animal crackers and his entree before my sister and I. They gave us a free little dessert and a keychain for him to play with. Fancy Sushi is the best restaurant in Billings hands down. Thank you for being so accommodating and wonderful!!
My family gives each other gift cards for Fancy Sushi because it is always fresh/good/affordable Asian food. We don't waste money on stocking stuffers, give us yummy food! Our favorites are: Sesame Shrimp, Udon soups, tempura. Sushi is best in Billings, my favorite is anything with eel! We miss eating in the restaurant as it is beautifully decorated.
I look forward to going to Fancy Sushi every time I’m back in Billings! I’ve lived on the east coast now for over 6 years and still am rarely as impressed or full as I am with Fancy!
This place is always top notch with quality of food and service. I really appreciate that they are diligent in making sure my food is gluten free. One of my favorite places to eat!
