They are terribly understaffed. We waited forever for drinks and orders. After more than an hour our food finally came and it was wrong. Since things were so slow we couldn't even send it back or ask for it to be corrected on the bill. Our waitress was doing the best she could with no support and a kitchen staff that couldn't follow the simplest requests. I'm never coming back.
I Just wanted to say a big thank you to Mrs Linda james, she's genuine kindness and bluntness at times when I needed to face reality are what made me progress. I invested $5000 and got $46,700 in a week. I only wish I had known about you earlier from the first moment I decided to trade. Nevertheless, I am grateful!
My fiancé and I went to dinner at commons 1882 and had a great time! The food was sooo yummy and the drinks were too! We felt like we weren’t even waiting that long for our dinner but the kitchen felt it was too long and gave us our dinners on them which has never happened to either of us anywhere before. Great customer service! 10/10 recommend
Good salads and decent beer selection.
I went here with a date and the atmosphere is good and the service as well. I had the chicken stuffed with asparagus and noodles. The chicken was awesome, but the asparagus was burnt and flavorless, along with the noodles. And my date ordered shrimp tacos and received steak tacos, we were ok with it cause things happen. Overall it was good, would return!
Not bad - certainly not 5 stars.Food was kinda bland and uninspired. Service was great as was the atmosphere, but the main focus of the dining experience is the food. They need to spend a bit more time honing in on their menu and flavors.
A milestone birthday and friends wanted to take me to brunch so we looked up the Commons and were delighted that they offered an online reservation which we happily booked. 1) They have undersized the parking lots to reflect the mixed use nature of the building (so I had to park blocks away), and 2) When I arrived, my wife informed me that despite our reservation they don't guarantee the reservation (I thought she was kidding). The hostess with apparent authority seemed annoyed by my surprise, used air-quotes to indicate that they 'try real hard' but when they're busy they don't actually guarantee the reservation.' The point is, I'll live. They certainly won't miss my business, and in the grand scheme of things it's just bad service. I don't fire off online reviews lightly because I perceive the importance. What left me with a bad taste in my mouth was the indignant response I got to asking questions such a bizarre policy and panicking over the need to course correct. Respectfully, when you hunt down a restaurant, invite friends, and go through the trouble of making a reservation, being left in a lurch with nothing but your hat in hand AT the time leaves you in no position to make other arrangements (because every other restaurant is already busy). If you don't mind a long walk, and a long wait, this probably is a great place for you. Just don't fall for the 'online reservation system' and tell them thanks for a birthday to remember.
I had ordered tacos and waited about 30 mins. They were fried...I didn't know that because it wasn't stated in the menu and I wasn't familiar with what kind of taco it was called (can't even remember), so I told the waitress I did not like them and did not know they were fried that and she had a major attitude like... "you should have known what kind of taco that was". I said it doesn't say it is fried on the menu, so I didn't know. Anyways I ordered a salad instead because I was starving and drinking wine ..... it was ok. But I was charged for both items. Poor customer service and not great menu. I suggest you google anything before you order.
Went to Sunday brunch without a reservation; apparently, this was a problem for the staff - after a whispered negotiation amongst themselves they decided to seat us. I believe, because of this we received cold, icy service - had to ask for a 2nd cup of coffee and felt stupid because we didn't realize the coaster with a qr code was our menu. The food was great, but the service was so hostile I will NEVER go back.
4/15/22 We had reservations. Arrived a few minutes early. We were greeted and seated. We got to visiting and suddenly realized we’d been there 15 minutes and no wait staff had come by. I went to the bar told the bartender we’d been waiting 15 minutes and gave him our drink order. It was still a few more before the drinks came. Our beer and wine were mostly gone when a server finally came by for our food order. She never once smiled or exchanged pleasantries and I had to tell her that we’d like drink refills. The place is extremely noisy and hard to carry on a conversation and the seating isn’t all that comfortable. The menu is very limited and the food was mediocre, our chicken and salmon were dry. Server totally ghosted us after she took our meal order. We won’t be back.
