The food is very good and hot. The portions are perfect. However I feel like the chicken chimichanga was very bland and there was nothing but plain white chicken in it
Good Food missing a little spice to make it Great. Not that it needed to be spicy but just didn't have a lot og flavor. Chicken Fajita Chimi.
We love el agave! The shrimp Jalisco quesadilla is delicious, the service is always great, and the owner is really nice. Highly recommend:)
Nice looking restaurant with indoor, outdoor and bar seating. The restaurant and bathrooms were both tidy and clean. We were greeted and seated quickly. The server was quick to bring out our salsa, chips and drinks. We ordered off of the lunch menu which had quite a few options but the prices seemed a little high for the amount of food. Our meals were very lackluster, as other reviewers have said it was just a "meh" meal. My enchilada was literally just shredded unseasoned chicken in a tortilla. Sauce on top with a little cheese. Beans and rice on the side. The other meal we ordered was the shrimp tacos. Literally shrimp in a tortilla with lettuce. No garnish (lime, cilantro or anything) or sauces. We asked for hot sauce (chalula or Tabasco) and we're brought out 2 different salsas in dishes. We saw later that we had been charged for them. When we asked about it the server said "it says on the menu that it's extra". Instead of informing us when we asked for it and just bringing us the condiments we asked for. I won't be back and don't really recommend. We did not try drinks so I can't rate based on that. The stars I gave were for the cleanliness and the outdoor seating space.
Terrible experience even worse customer service from the manager. Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for a to go order with only 2 items on the ticket. When they finally came out one was wrong. The manger offered no solution besides taking the incorrect item off my bill. Came home empty handed to a hungry wife and kids. I’ll remember that and take my business to one of the other 11 Mexican restaurants in a 5 mile radius.
We love going to El Agave and are routinely here for dinner or take out at least once a month and sometimes more often than that. Service is normally very quick and polite. On busy nights, expect a little bit longer of a wait, but you'll still have your food quicker than any other restaurant in the area.
Best Mexican around. Even the rice and refried beans are awesome. Everything so fresh and big portions. My fav is the shrimp fajitas!

an order for hot food to go was sitting out on table waiting, allowed to get cold. manager was rude and talked down to me.i would not go back. There are to many restaurants in wentzville, mo that would appreciate my business
