Being from KC, I’m surprised to say “best ribs ever”. Sunday special was a 1.3lb beef rib, so tender it pulled itself off the bone and I hardly needed sauce. Even the sides were amazing, the bread was fresh, the patio was big, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. 100% recommend.
Best BBQ I've ever ate in my life. Everything is perfect and always look forward to see what's new. Whenever we're lucky enough to get sauce it goes on literally everything at home! Keep making delicious food
Horrible staff that is rude beyond anything we had seen before. called to place and order at 5pm (place closes at 6) and right off the bat the guy tells us "umm it might be too late to order but tell us what you want and we will see" So we proceed only to be interupted every 10 seconds with "oh we are out of that" and "we can't make this" Nonetheless, we canceled the order and went to another place. If you are too lazy to make food till closing time then close early!!!
Everyone was very pleased with all the eats except for the slaw. Bland. We sat outdoors under the pergola as the weather was nice, especially after the guy turned on the ceiling fans at my request. You order inside at the bar, then grab an empty table. The food is brought to you. For what is basically a neighborhood tavern, the eats are exceptional.
Got here before it closed for the weekend & it was worth the walk! I ordered the beef brisket, pit beans & creamy cabbage. The pit beans were very flavorful with some kick & the brisket was so juicy it didn’t need any sauce. They completed the back patio BC ( before COVID); there is plenty of space for games or to have a party. Part of the outdoor seating has cover & you can order from the side window if you’d like. As you sip your cold beverage of choice, admire the murals of @meticulous_lex that are everywhere, from tabletops to ceiling. I’m full & very glad I can walk some of this off. ?
My husband and I booked the whole restaurant for our private event and we are so glad we did. Alex, the head chef and owner, was so easy and flexible to work with. We had 150 guests which their space comfortably held and everyone raved about the food! We did it buffet style and many went back for seconds. The entire staff was friendly and fun with all of our guests. We brought our own decorations and had a live band which was no problem at all. Alex didn't mind us coming in early the day of to setup. This was our wedding celebration so we were looking for something casual yet not have to sacrifice on having good food for such a large amount of people. The Stellar Hog was able to meet and exceed all of our needs. I cannot recommend them enough for either events like we did or just going in during their regular business hours to enjoy some of STL's best BBQ!
Stellar Hog is our new favourite restaurant! This hidden gem has lovely service (order at the bar and take a number to your seat) and amazing food. I highly recommend their brisket, wings and pretzel sticks, although everything is truly awesome.Great family spot with a friendly vibe.
Everything I ate was excellent, like best corned beef ever. Brisket and salami also smoked to perfection. Stopped here after a 7 hr drive and was so grateful we did. Maybe open a Stellar Hog in TC, so I wont have to drive so long :) People, try this place, you wont be upset.
Don't sleep on this place. My wife and I drove by a thousand times and after seeing it featured on Three Lawyers Eating Sandwiches we decided to stop in.My wife got the Grimace with Brussels sprouts and I got the White Wall with creamed cabbage. Absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be back.
An unexpected gem in a neighborhoodHas space for outdoor seatingPlenty of alcohol options and most importantly good BBQGot it as take out and was very satisfiedPretty darn good fries as wellDef going to try this place againI got the rib sandwich and I personally do like my bbq sauce on the sweeter side so I really enjoyed it. The sandwich was pretty decent size too so it was more than filling for me
