I feel bad about the low bar I mentally set before I came here for a ska show. We had a fantastic time. The venue is the perfect size for local bands, and the drink prices can't be beat. A breath of fresh air, we could actually afford to have a good time! It felt like we were at a Dive version of the Duck Room.My only complaint is how small the back patio is. You can't go out there for fresh air - inundated by smoke. An option is to go out front for fresh air, but then you might get approached by non-bar randos. That's worse than bar randos!Thanks for a great night out, Heavy Anchor! I hope you host more and other ska shows soon!

Cool punk rock bar with a laid back divey vibe. Real good place for seeing bands, going to their movie and trivia nights, or just hanging out.
Good drink selection at fair prices. Friendly staff. Cool atmosphere.Good bands... but sound mix was disappointing. I don't like to criticize without suggestions, so here are some simple things to make it better:- Use a decibel meter for overall level. Tonight was way too loud. People will tell you to turn it up. No one will say turn it down.- Lower rhythm guitar compared to leadThat's actually all you need to make the whole experience much more enjoyable.

Grubby dive bar, but with fancy club prices. Would be worth going to if they either charged dive bar prices OR spent some of their profit on making the place nice.
