Fast cashier order service, but food was distasteful- not on point! Atmosphere was loud and ghetto! Also dirty tables from previous diners not cleaned; Money I spent for two steak and shrimp dinners was wasted! Steak wasn't well done, fries taste too greasy, shrimps were tiny and shriveled up! Toast bread was blah! Asked for two cups of water..water tasted nasty with after- taste! Tried to dine inside..only to be met with rude staff talking loudly and cracking jokes with each other-I couldnt even hear my own conversation...no professionalism!!. Inside decor badly needs an update! This restaurant NEEDs to get it together...Horrible experience!! Had been coming here for years especially after Fox concerts! First time I was very displeased with my experience at this establishment...
Boy where to start! If your in STL, you gotta stop here. I ordered the Ribeye, wife got Steak and Shrimp, and son got chicken tenders. It was delicious and very well cooked. We were told to get the “Tip Potato”; and you won’t be dissapointed. Food is cooked as you order. Can’t beat that! Fancy in its own, old fashioned, home style cook’s way I believe would be the best way to describe it. Coming from Texas this almost felt like East Texas cook’s, but the STL way. Ambient was great, myself and my family felt very welcomed and almost had a home feel to it. Will definately come again next time. Wish I would had taken photos but when I thought about it, it was too late.
The place is packed. The food is great. The gyro is huge. Nice place to stop by before a show. The line will be long but there’s a good reason for it.
The steak was the best steak. The only healthy vegetable option is a $.99 side salad. I want to give it 5 stars if I was able to sit down and have my steak delivered to my table. You stand up and wait in a line to order your food. I had the steak and shrimp dinner. Very good . You can’t park in the front to dine in after 6pm. Staff was friendly. Will order again when I’m in town. Very fulfill.
We were walking down the street after a show at Powell Hall looking for something to eat, a family came out the door and we asked if there was a line they said yeah they're usually is it's not your normal steakhouse it's more of a St Louis thing That's when we knew we had to try it. As you stand in line and look over the menu. The cook will yell next and you will tell them what chicken or steak you want and how you want it you will then order your sides when you get up to the sides like baked potatoes, fries or the famous tip potatoes which you leave a tip in the cup and he will cook you up some delicious tip potatoes. Everything we had was great with a great price. Not your fancy steakhouse but truly a St Louis thing I highly recommend and we will be going back Thank You "The Best Steakhouse"
Easy review. This is a St. Louis landmark and everyone needs to visit. Cook food over an open flame and prices are inexpensive. Not the best quality of steak but for the price, what do you expect? Friendly workers and hot food is a win in my book. Check them out.
I am from out of town. Me and my wife wanted steak for a late lunch today. We found the Best Steakhouse. This place is great!! It was like stepping back into the 1960s. The service was quick and the staff was friendly!! The steaks were fabulous!! The place is from a bygone era. I highly recommend this restaurant!!
I read the reviews before coming here and was a little hesitant... but this is literally the best most authentic food I've had here in St Louis. It's not complicated or difficult, the workers are not rude they are just direct, and the tip potatoes slap bro. Dude said he would hook me up like a tow truck and he delivered.5 star!
So delicious. I get the chicken plate with tip potatoes and it's perfect every time
I have a special place in my heart for this place. I went there for the first time as an adult. My father who was dying from Leukemia took me. It was one of his favorite spots. The whole experience can be a bit jarring if you are new to it but if you do it right you’ll fall in love. First off, you have to eat there. No carry outs, no to-go’s. The place is inexpensive for a steak house and it’s because the cuts…let’s just say they need to be eaten hot and the same day. Second, when you go almost everybody is a regular. You’ll be confused when the cook yells at you for an order and you have to yell the order back. Don’t get offended—they aren’t yelling to be mean. They just have a process. If they seem snappy, think of it as endearing banter and they’ll treat you like royalty. Also, don’t hesitate to ask the person in line next to you if you are confused at any point from the line to your seat. They’ll help you for sure. Finally, the food is the star. There will be something on the menu you’ll swear by. When you find your thing, stick with it. Next thing you know you’ll be screaming your order from the line with confidence!
