Very interesting menu. I had lamb meatballs and my wife had the octopus. Both were very good. Service was excellent.
Very good Moroccan and South West Asian food. They offer Arak, which is an anise liqueur that we had never had before. Their menu is periodically updated, and you would be surprised how good the carrots and cabbage dish is.
Terrible service. Went there today to have dinner with a friend and was turned away for not having my vaccination card with me. I’ve been vaxed and boosted, but there’s no notice anywhere on their site about a requirement for a vaccine card and this is atypical for my experience with other local St Louis businesses. Considering St Louis has lifted their mask mandates, this was a terrible first experience to have.
I had the pleasure of trying this restaurant recently and I felt the need to rave about what a wonderful experience I had. Right off the bat the manager, Johnathan, made me feel very welcome. He made sure to answer all of the questions I had about the food as I had never tried Moroccan inspired cuisine before. He was very knowledgeable about all of the food and gave me some great suggestions. I ended up trying the Briouat which was fantastic! I love the savory and sweet combo and the dipping sauce was exquisite. I ordered the charred chicken for my main course. The chicken was cooked perfectly, very juicy and the seasoning was fantastic. I was dining alone so I sat at the bar, and the bartender Andrew was awesome! Great cocktails and great conversation. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very warm and I love the black and gold theme. If you are reading this review I encourage you to give Benevolent King a chance!

I can't think of any other place in STL right now that offers AmberJackfish Crudo to their guests. Every where you look, you see grouper, halibut and Chilean sea bass. an outstanding menu that erupts with originality. Fantastic cocktails with service to match and a wine list that would make Robert Sinskey blush.
Loved everything we tried. The cocktails abs food were all wonderful. The service was flawless. We will be back. Soon and often.
This restaurant just reopened. It has romantic atmosphere with attentive service. The recommendations were spot on fabulous. The chicken briouat is a sweet/savory appetizer that you could easily make a meal. But the Star is the pigeon special that is a perfect blend of puff pastry and spices. Save room for the tasty desserts to top off your dinner. We will be back!
Not a place I would recommend
This place is GREAT. Every dish is delicious. My family and I have tried almost everything on the menu and it’s so yummy. Definitely recommend!!
