I was looking forward to the visit to STL and getting a concrete here. Not sure why but if I had turned it upside down and it would have slipped out of the cup. It was not frozen but very soft, more like a loose milkshake. Very disappointing.
Our family loves ice cream and this place did not disappoint! The "Christie" is AWESOME! We had to go twice during our weekend visit to St. Louis because we liked it so much! Tried the other location but found out that it was closed.
It’s old school Route 66, it’s classic, delicious and worth the hype.Nothing else has to be said other than the All Shook Up concrete is the bomb. Reeces pieces and bananas mixed with the delicious vanilla custard. ?It’s been said a million times, if you are visiting famed places on Route 66, this is a must do.
Once you taste the frozen yogurt at this place I promise this would become your favorite place no matter wherever you have eaten before, we initially thought we would skip this place as we saw a big line in front of us and it was sunny that day, but we somehow convinced us and got into the line, we realized there we many windows we could place orders and the queue in the line moved faster, we got the sundae’s and mocha both tasted so good, we request them to open a place at Charlotte area too. Would highly recommend anyone to try this place at least once.
Researching Saint Louis, I quickly realized ice cream, custard and gelato are an area stable especially for a community where summer temps exceed 100, and Ted Drewes has the longest history here. We tried to visit Friday night but the line was wrapped around the building and there was no parking for blocks. We came back on a rainy Saturday afternoon and while busy we could at least get a space in the parking lot. The line was a little fluid and you the menu was a lot of choices. However, we managed and the finished product of Mississippi Mud for me was worth the wait. While the custard was great, the former Route 66 institution was equally part of the experience. If you are in Saint Louis, be sure to make time to visit this Saint Louis dessert icon.
Stoped by for the famous frozen custard while passing through St Louis. I had heard lines get very long so we went earlier in the day and there was only one group in fort of us. I’ve only had frozen custard once from Shake Shack so was intrigued to try the real deal. It’s just as good as you’d think, super creamy and not too sweet. I went for a cookie dough concrete. You have to eat it super quickly because it seems to melt faster than regular ice cream!
Ted Drews has been our goto for great custard; but the sugar content is too much. Less sugar (no artificial or sugar free please) No one wore a mask; cageful.
Super fun place for a summer treat! Don’t be fooled by the crowd, the lines move very quickly and it’s worth the short wait. The huge variety of combinations makes for an experience that is never boring, and the crowd that gathers around is very friendly and full of fun characters. The staff has to memorize your entire order (no notes or paper!) and I’m yet to have them mess it up. Will definitely be back.
Hard to miss this place with constant crowds, neon sign, and distinctive building. A must for locals and travelers alike! Best frozen treat in my life to this day!
The custard remains great! But it was high-90s when we stopped, and tough to keep ahead of the melting. Folks are in such a rush for Ted’s that you need to watch it in the small parking lot.
