Phenomenal food, service and drinks. Me and my family went in this past Saturday and the bartender was the only server. His service was so phenomenal you would of thought it was more than 1 server. He was making drinks, running to get food, and taking orders. Most of the time when short staffed you tend to have a less than pleasant experience with service but not the case here. The food had a Smokey/cajun flavor which was phenomenal. If you don’t like bold/spicy dishes this may not be the place for you. However I love spicy so I will definitely be back. The margaritas were delicious and had the perfect kick. Keep doing what you’re doing guys. This a small business you should definitely try .
We ordered Sister Cities to cater a bridal shower. I cannot begin to capture how ecstatic and complimentary everyone was to see and enjoy the spread! We went with the pork hoisin, Shrimp roulade, etouffee, cornbread, and jambalaya. Ive been back in Texas for 2 days and I’m still craving the jambalaya. The bride’s favorite wAs the shrimp roulade while several went on about the pork hoisin. Such a hit and the team was so easy to work with. I messaged them on Instagram to place the order, paid via Square the following day, and everything was ready exactly when they said it would be!
Father’s Day Lunch ordered the Shrimp & Grits it was not to my liking. JJ the waiter stated All Sales are Final and that was the end…
Went Monday for first visit, won’t be our last! Jambalaya was some of the best I’ve ever had. Gumbo really good as well. Cool place, friendly staff. See you again next time in the Lou!
I visited this place today after Sunday services…so you know I was hungry. It was 4 people in my party…paid over $80 for our food. We dined in…The food arrived and it LOOKED good…we ordered 2 dishes of the shrimp and grits, 1 smothered catfish plate and 1 Dirty chick meal. The 2 shrimp dishes were not good at all!!! We didn’t eat the dish and still had the food in tact (just only tasted it) I asked for something different..the smoked wings (cheaper than the shrimp and grits) and was told ALL SALES ARE FINAL. The young man behind the counter said the shrimp and grits won the city over a little over a year ago and walked away…no type of customer service. Well they are not winning today! We were not rude and was not asking for a free meal. Didn’t try to accommodate us but said we can buy the wings. REALLY, after you can clearly see that I was not satisfied and did not eat the food AT ALL! I wil not be back and will NOT recommend you to go either. I hope they know or remember…BAD NEWS TRAVEL FASTER THAN GOOD NEWS. I understand we all have bad days and today may have been yours or the cooks (to error is human) but try and be more accommodating and not so rude! The mistake we made was we paid for the food BEFORE it arrived…made it too easy for them to refuse an accommodation!
The food was delicious and authentic cajun food. My husband got the Gumbo and he loved it. My son got the Dirty Chicken and I got the Creole Pasta. Both of these dishes were delicious. We will definitely be back!!
A group of us walked in and were blown away! Thanks JJ! You have a great kitchen here. We all tried the seafood gumbo, blackened chicken, and the creole pasta. Cornbread was perfectly savory. Thanks for hosting us.Be patient with your service staff ? they're working hard and you may wait for things. Overall amazing experience and we will return next time we visit for the weekend.
I love this place. Friendly service, and the gumbo is perhaps the best I've ever had, here or NOLA or anywhere else. I don't even care what else is on the menu, I want dat gumbo. My SO isn't a fan so I don't get to eat here as much as I'd like, but anytime I'm flying solo in the area I am gonna stop here and you can take that to the bank.
I have to say that this spot hits all your satisfaction of Cajun foods. My first time here and I’ll most definitely will be coming back. Shot out yo Jay Jay awesome service ☺️
We are still trying to understand why this place was so highly rated. It was more than disappointing. We walked it and saw a sign that said, "Please wait to be seated." A man sitting at the bar shouted that he would be with us in one minute...then again and again. Finally a woman told us that they were doing bar service and we should sit anywhere. We placed our orders with the man sitting at the bar. I politely explained that we were left standing at the door and he replied, " You good." ( Not what I was expecting. ) When the food arrived I was underwhelmed. The food was pricey and the portions were small. We ordered the catfish and cajun pasta. The pasta had 1 piece of shrimp in it and it was cut up into smaller pieces. The fish was cut into 4 pieces and fried in a salty batter. The worst was the beans offered as a side that tasted like they came straight from a can and weren't cooked at all. We will not visit this establishment again. If you want cajun food, you'll need to look elsewhere.
