Fast service and very good food...loved the hot&sour soup..Cashew Chicken and Shrimp Fried Rice were good.

Very SAD!!!! I've been coming here with my family for 25+ years & it used to be our favorite!! For all our special occasions we would choose Sesame. The last year they have been going down hill. I thought it was just because of covid & they were trying to cut corners. I didn't realize that they were under new management. It is very sad that the parents owned this restaurant, everything was so delicious. The service was always amazing & it was just such a enjoyable place. Now their children own it & it is awful! I've given it several chances to change my opinion, but it just gets worse each time. There is a older gentleman who works there ( not sure of his name, he's worked there for YEARS), he is the ONLY thing that is actually good at this place. The size the portions are easy smaller, & the prices are high. The hot tea used to be soooo good & now it is disgusting. The last few times we have gone, the food has been cold & not enjoyable. This just breaks my heart that their kids are letting their place fall to the, ground. VERY VERY SAD!!!!

We have been coming here for twenty years and all those year I’d have given five stars. Our hearts were so let down today as the children have taken over as their parents retired. Oh we miss them!! They were so lovely and friendly. Loved al the waiters. Today the food was nothing in comparison. Even the hot tea has changed. The warmness and enjoyment of going anticipating a great dinner is completely gone. The girls waiting on us sadly had no warmth. They’ve even taken away the spoons!! For the love of God one cannot in any way have a regular spoon. No refills on water. And the beautiful fish tank is now filled with green water. Nothing is the same. Sadly, we will not be returning to our favorite spot to share.

Easier Sunday, we broke from the traditional Easter. We decided to go Chinese. My wife had Empress Chicken. I had sweet and sourGood meals, we talked about going back. Place was clean. Bathroom was clean. Service was good. What more could you ask for.

Lovely restaurant. Had lunch with my mother, quiet , calm peacefulEnvironment . Service was excellent. Food excellentFresh vegetables !

The service was great. The server was very friendly and professional not only to us but to thee others in the restaurant. Appreciate the recommendation of the super slam. Priced right and good.

I purchased 23 dollars for a Chinese dinner takeout most everything was mediocre except the beef rib appetizer it was all bones and fat!!!!!!! If I would have called about it they would have not understood what I was saying so I was not able to bring the box of bones and fat back until the next week so she said I should have brought it back sooner which would have been an inconvenience for me since I don’t live close by. People rave about this place but THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVE NOT BEEN TO CHINA 1st in Ballwin (NOT China ONE). It’s a very small place but everything is Exceptional!!! With no concept of what good Customer Service and a look of disgust she handed it back to me and I simply said why do I want it?! and left it on the counter. I’m happy to say I would never go back or recommend Sesame Chinese to anyone. There are many good Chinese Restaurants in St. Louis that have friendly owners and that are willing to make right was is not. Sesame knows what their meat looks like before they prepare it. You can clearly see fat, clearly see bones and meat so they knew what they were giving me before it was even prepared! I am glad that I know now how they can treat some of their customers. Actually there is very little customer service anymore or many business owners just don’t really seem to care. When I walked in I was right behind the owner he almost slammed both doors in my face instead of holding the door open for me I was right at his heels!!! Just another example of their customer service.

Don't bother. The old couple that used to run this place retired. It used to be a nice place to eat. It's a mess now. They don't even have a liquor license. I went with my wife and kids this evening (2/9/22). We tried to order a beer with dinner and were told they don't serve beer anymore. Weird. There was no music playing. The special ambience of the dining room included an empty (dry) fish tank. Used to be my go-to for Chinese in the area. Shame.

?I'll never go back! After 20+ years of 5 star food quality & service I'm sad to say that the children are failing miserably since taking over the restaurant from their parents. I gave it my 4th & final chance only to conclude that it's not even close to the same quality. Very little crab in the crab racoon, stale frozen over cooked egg rolls, significantly smaller portions, meats & vegetables inferior quality in all the different main dishes, & the sauces in each entrée were 90% water with no flavor at all. I was hoping things would improve, it's just really bad, bad, bad. If they're cutting corners like this, I have great concerns about the safety & cleanliness of Sesame.? ick!

Last time I visited with family it was super disappointing. After Covid it seamed like the heart was gone from the cooking. The food was nothing like it used to be. Sad to say I won’t be returning. Years ago it was great.
