Food was not good. Oil in the fryer should be changed more often as fried food should not come out dark and oily. Pizza was loaded with sauce that had a bad taste to it and the toppings fell off right away.
I want this place to be better, I really do. The last two visits, fried chicken special night SUN’s and burger night THU’s have been relatively bad. On both visits, we got our own menus, which is normal, looked them over and waited, and waited etc. It’s one big rectangular room with a bar that runs almost the whole length of the long side. No excuses for the staff to not be able to see the entire room from any point. At least 15 mins later, up comes a server. We noted that several tables entering after us, were getting served. The servers aren’t the most engaging and there are too few of them apparently. The food took at least 20 mins to come. Not as hot as they should be. Lukewarm at best for so long a wait. There’s more, the wait staff is equally slow to collect the cash, something I’m certain management is keen to see timely. Over an hour door entry to exit. I get the sense that these folk rely on their regulars who apparently don’t frequent any other, better operated restaurants in the area, at least one within a stones throw of this place where we’ve never had any issues.
Went on Saturday with my wife around 3:00P.M. Ordered a Patty Melt wings and my wife ordered clams. Waited 48 minutes for the wings and clams. Clams were great wings were supposed to be hot wings absolutely disgusting the sauce looked like vinaigrette salad dressing there was oil floating in a red sauce that was not hot sauce. My patty melt that should have been served with the rest came out 27 minutes later and was burnt beyond even my dog wanting it! Your supposed to be able to see the marble in the rye bread onions were burnt as well as the burger, I believe the waitress was embarrassed by the food and the length of time we were there. We will never be back!
Great Pizza Great Owners Great Staff - Great Cooks,Great Bartenders,Great Waiters oh my ?
the food was great! Had the open faced roast beef sandwich and the beef was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Everything was perfectly seasoned and my husband said his burger was great too! Prices are low, service was great, definitely will be back
Went to this place after a hockey game 3/28/2022. The guy that waited on us was very nice and quick and loved that he talked to us like he already knew all of us, gave me that Cheers type of feeling. The pizza is always great. Thanks
Some of the best thin crust pizza around! They definitely know the art of baking pizza with bacon. The bacon is crispy and perfect.
Schotties is a great place for food and drinks. They have a very friendly staff and clientele. Great appetizer selection for happy hour 4-6pm.I'm so glad that I live so close to Schotties.Their prices are very reasonable. And recently, they've installed BIGGER TVs. It's a great place to catch a game of any sport. See you there! ?
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND..Ordered online. Their online ordering service thru Slice, which they don't own, put the wrong time on my order bc of a time zone issue (my confirmation email says 5:30pm, theirs says 6:30). So, I instead waited 30 min for the THREE PIZZAS I ordered and the manager on duty/bartender Chris apologized but offered nothing for the inconvenience, and instead suggested next time I call in my order. What's the point in offering online ordering if it doesn't work??? For the record, I didn't call in the order bc I was in work meetings back to back all day!Horrible customer service. Now to the pizza. I've sent the screenshot of what I ordered. I literally only ordered mediums bc it was how I could get a NY style pizza. Look at these. Can you guess which is thin and which is NY style? Nope we couldn't either. The taste is average. The pineapple pizza? Had onions in it but no pineapple...so was a cheese pizza I paid extra for the wrong topping. I would go to Fortel's or Imo's before I'd ever come back here for STL style. The taste was average. Nothing outstanding. Sauce is on the sweeter side.
I love this place. My wife and I went on a Saturday, for my birthday. I specifically wanted to try their brain sandwich. I like to try unusual foods! This an old-time local pub, my favorite type of restaurant. It was cozy with all the typical trappings of a well-established, older restaurant-bar; I'd call it family-friendly. The brain sandwich was deep-fried, smothered in onions and brown mustard. It was surprisingly good - I'd order it again. My wife had the Reuben and said it was delicious. The bar tender was very nice... all in all this was a great experience, a fun birthday. I'll go back!
