Have to admit it took me a hot minute to wrap my head around the unusual dishes and flavor combinations... but boy does it work. Everything here is inventive and a new take on Asian and or Latin food. Nothing we had was a miss.The Nutella donut bites were fabulous... kinda like a Nutella filled churro beignetThe Mexi Pho with chicken and with beef (fried egg on top) were also great. The noodles are Chinese noodles (not Vietnamese) and the pho broth... yum.The Gumbo was good too - particularly the spicy duck.Crunchy perfect sweet potato fries and chorizo roll.SUPER cute interior.
Great little spot in Midtown right by IKEA. Was recommended to me by a friend and I’m glad it was! The Bacos are fantastic, the baos are light and doughy, and the flavor of the fillings were excellent (my fav was probably the pork!) The Funky Monkey Fries were also great, the jalapeño aioli is killer. And, lastly, the panang curry chicken bahn mi was also very tasty, the French baguette was so light with the perfect amount of crisp and soaked up all the extra juices very nicely. I will definitely be back!
Was quite surprised by this place. If you’re looking for a quick casual bite. This is a great spot! I had the Cheesy Buddha, basically a cheesesteak without the steak and instead you get poblano pepper. My favorite kind of pepper! My lady got the Puerto Rican Rice bowl and we topped it off with the Nutella donuts! If you’ve got sweet tooth those will definitely fulfill your fix! Try em out!
Stupidly delicious. Delicious banh mi on perfectly soft baguettes. THE best sweet potato fries I have ever had with a powerful punch of flavor all its own. (And I consider myself a bit of a sweet potato connoisseur.) Excellent customer service and quick food service. HIGHLY recommend and I can’t wait to go back!
Very interesting Latin-Asian restaurant. I got a picadillo ?? which was very tasty. However 90% of the bowl was rice ??I wish I could get less rice and more picadillo because I got just a little bit, that's my only feedback on things the could improve. The Egg rolls were good with sauces. Tostones were very well fried and the Vietnamese coffee ☕ was perfectly done.I would like to try out the Sandwiches.
Saucy Porka is a fantastic restaurant if you are looking for some delicious Asian-Latin fusion options! It’s also located next door to Narwhals, so you can either dine-in or take it next door to Narwhals and eat your meal with a delicious drink! The menu has a variety of foods, including Banh Mi sandwiches, pho, rice bowls, salads, and bacos (bao bun tacos). There are vegetarian options to choose from as well! The interior of the restaurant is clean, and gives a tropical modern vibe.
This may be the most flavorful food I’ve eaten in a very long time. I haven’t had all of the menu items but what I have tried has been superb. I will definitely be returning soon, not only for the food but for the perfection in customer service that this place offers. The owners really know how to operate a proper restaurant.
The food is good, just some things aren't worth the price. Like the rice bowls are pretty basic, not nearly flavorful or creative enough to be worth $15. Which isn't a lot, but that's how bland it was.We also tried the plantains, which were actually really good, especially with the sauce that comes with it.I want to go back and order different things, so it wasn't a terrible experience. But if you want a tasty rice dish, may I suggest Sameem or Nudo House.
I had the Five Spice Duck Banh Mi and it was superb!! My wife had Bacos - the shrimp and the pork. They were delicious!! True gem of a restaurant and very friendly staff!
