Great, fast service. The combo paltry is you best bet!
Amazing barbecue! Had the burnt ends and pulled pork plate, and it was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their lunch.
Great food, quick service! Friendly staff.
Soooo good! We tried lots and it was all a hit, especially the creamed corn and the beans. Even the kids wanted to order more to take home.
Johnny was our waiter and he was great! Friendly and he gave good suggestions on the menu, as this was our first time there. We (two) shared a plate of three meats and two sides. The ribs were awesome and the brisket even more wonderful. Great prices, too!
This may be our new favorite BBQ place in St. Louis. We visited their sidewalk umbrella tables outside the South St. Louis Hampton Avenue location; they have 4 more locations. We may try them all!My 90 YO mom and I (67) ordered two "plates" with 2 sides, each; she accepted the "bacon-cheddar" popover that comes with plates, while I subbed the offered gluten-free bun.I had the brisket with sweet pepper potato salad and green bean-tomato vinaigrette salad. She had 1/2 slab of "trashed" (sauce baked on) pork ribs with fries and cole slaw.Plates are in photos, but I have her pickles (sweet, thick-cut) and her cole slaw dressing in separate container isn't in the pic (she didn't like it, anyway: great that it was separate!).Brisket was tender, salads were excellent, and portions allowed for 2 meals for me.Mom got 6 meaty ribs, already sauced and cut apart (yay!), and her fries were unsalted and crisp, as requested. She said the popover wasn't very cheesy and she detected zero bacon in it, but liked the dough. Had to ask for a small dish for it (not in pic). She will get 3 meals from her portions!Very happy with these lunches!
Post-game dinner. Crowded but we sat/ate at bar. The staff was attentive and friendly. Plenty of bourbons to choose from. Food was good.
One of my favorite spots in St. Louis.Beef Fat Fries- 4/5Fried Chicken Skin- interesting a crunchy little appetizer. Very good with the sauce they serve with it. 4/5St. Louis Ribs- these are great. Combined with the Kansas style BBQ sauce they are as good as it gets.White Cheddar Max & Cheese- 4/5
I kept my expectations low as I had never been there before. From being warmly greeted, to the comfortable atmosphere and great food it did not disappoint. I had the combo platter and when I ordered the brisket I had a choice of chopped or burnt ends. I took the burnt end option because that's my favorite and they had a nice bark to them. The pulled pork was delicious as well, had the white cheddar mac and cheese which was phenomenal and also the creamed corn. Overall a great experience and I will be back again.
Salt + Smoke is one of the great BBQ restaurants in St Louis. Good BBQ and drinks + outdoor seating on a nice day, can't go wrong.
